Rockford's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in King

Tonight, my girl and I went to Rockford's for the first time, and we will make it a regular place to go.

I will not lie, when we walked, in my first thought was "there are more TV's in here than square footage". First mistake... I judged the book by its cover.

Second mistake was looking at the prices on the menu and pre-judging what the food portions would be like... though you cannot blame me entirely because there are many places in the GTA that promise great things with "greater" prices - and fail.

Our order consisted of 2 beers on tap, 1 onion ring appetizer and 2 burger dinners... the Mushroom & Swiss and the Peppercorn. Total before tip was $80.

Now that I've got that out of the way... let me tell you how Rockford's sets themselves apart from everyone else.

First, our waitress was genuine and complimentary from the heart and from the start. We first were seated at a bar-high table and she mentioned that a booth would open soon and sure enough we were waiting for our order from the comfort of our booth.

Second, our onion rings quickly made their way to our table... Actual onion rings!! Not thin over-fried rings of charcoal with a hint of onion, but perfectly shaped and batter covered onion rings that were delicious, not to mention plentiful!

Third, our burgers... let me tell you people something... I have eaten a lot of burgers in my 51 years and my stomach can back it up... there is nobody, N O B O D Y that has ever done a burger like this... never-mind the peppercorn ranch on it... NOBODY has ever made a burger this big, this juicy, this flavorful, than the master burger craftsman at Rockford's.

My girl and I both took the top bun off because we saw the challenge in front of us... it didn't help... I had to pause in eating this meaty craftsmanship just to breathe and allow my innards to find place for the rest of it!

If you have never been to Rockford's and you like burgers here's my advice - don't eat for six days, get in the car, take your brother, sister, uncle, friend, neighbor from down the road (who cares!) and just go!! I kid you not when I say that these burgers are the best you will have ever had, period.

If u think u have the worst in life. Come and try this one hell shxt restaurant to make you happy with the rest of king city and region around. Owner was already drunk around 7:30pm. Made reservations at 12:01pm which the restaurant for a sport team as per their website highlight they good at serving sport team for a dinner. End up only one server for the whole restaurant and the owner is busy to drink with his friends. We arrived on time 6:30 and totally 2 hours until all food served. Some teammates family have to excuse themselves and leave. Our kids was playing pool table on the side and the drunk owner walk towards my son and touch him and ask him not to break the equipment without talking to us and/or asking permission to touch my son. It’s a Sunday “wings special” we ordered total 5 special. The first one come 45mins after order and the last one come out in2hr mark. Some of us end up packing food without finishing it. Then the owner go outside and smoke and some his friends customer was vaping in front door. This is the most epic dinner I never expected happen in King city. If u have kid, don’t go there. If you want to go there eat first before waiting for hours for food serving. I attached the sign to make sure no one accidentally turn into it. This restaurant license should be revolved and the owner should be arrested inappropriately touching minor...

Food was unbelievable but service was incredibly slow. Came here with my cycling club after our evening ride. Our server kept forgetting to bring people’s drinks, we could never find her when we wanted to order something as she rarely came to check on our table. When she finally took our food order she only took half the tables order and told us the food would be at least 30m. Well that 30m was an hour and 15m - ridiculous! Poor woman should be retired as she was clearly exhausted and has difficulty remembering simple drink orders. I ordered only a water and was the last one to get my drink, because she forgot. Just to pay our bills took another 45m. By the time we left it was 11:30pm. I hate to give this place 2 stars because the food itself was actually bomb - I got a French onion soup and a salad but my team mates got burgers which looked and supposedly tasted UNREAL. But we were literally at this place for 3.5hrs and the exceptionally slow service...
