The Goose Kitchen + Bar by Jack's GastroPub — Restaurant in Kingsville

This was our second time at Jack's... and our experience was stellar. First and foremost, the food was excellent, Secondly, and extremely important, our server was stellar! Quick story... our server was brilliant, our party of four loved every dish ordered, and in a very tough time (COVID-19) our experience was beyond expectations. Read on if you desire... I can not speak highly enough about Reanne, our server. Not only was she fantastic as a server, but she was also incredibly personable and quick witted. I cannot recommend this server enough. Reanne, if you read this, you made our night! Thank you! Food... well, we consciously made an effort to order different dishes because we tend to share... Food ordered: Pub Pretzels (for the table) Beef Dip (sounds so ordinary... but was anything but) Duck & Pull'd Pork Cuban Korean BBQ Duck (a burger that was, well, stellar) Daily special burger... which I can't remember all the details as it wasn't my order, but was completely over the top. Sides were Cole Slaw (massive bowl), 2x Puotine (excellent), and a Caesar Salad. Not one dish or side lacked. Amazing food! And I am a foodie... just for clarification. Along with the food being great... I cannot stress enough how much we appreciated out server, Reanne. Please Jack's, hold onto this lady. She is everything you need in a server. Personable, intelligent, quick witted, and knows EVERYTHING about your menu and what you provide. She completely up sold us... and bravo! It made us enjoy the evening beyond what we had planned. Reanne, you made our night! I have been to Jack's, and Kingsville for that matter, twice in the last two years. I can honestly say I would plan another trip just to go to Kingsville, eat at Jack's, and stay at the Lil' Heart & Soul Inn. And, Reanne, we hope to see you...

My wife and I dined here on Saturday, October 14 and had high hopes. Unfortunately they fell flat. We both did the prix fixe meal which I thought was a good option. My wife and I started with the Caesar salad. It was good except for the fried capers. After two bites the saltiness of the capers was overwhelming. We both picked them out of our salads for this reason. She had the Korean fried chicken which was good and I had the filet. I ordered my filet medium and it was medium well to well done. Now mind you, I did not say anything because I was hungry and didn’t feel like waiting for a refire on the filet because we had plans after dinner. We had the crème brûlée for dessert and they both were overdone. The topping tasted like burnt sugar. On the positive end of things, the service was good and I did try two of your craft beers, which were both good as well. This was definitely not the experience we were hoping for at your establishment. And for what it’s worth, you may want to have a door put up because the noise from your kitchen was quite loud and took away from overall dining experience. My wife and I come to the Leamington and Kingsville area quite frequently and unfortunately we will have to take a hard pass on coming back to your restaurant. Hopefully things will improve in the future, and I do realize that you just redid your menu and you may be trying to work out some kinks, but with you going to a finer dining type of platform, the issues that we had with our food in my opinion should not have occurred. Bare with me, this is a lengthy complaint l.

The food at Jack's is to die for. However, the host Tom picks and chooses who he wants in the restaurant. We didn't realize we needed a reservation, it says on the website walk ins welcome. Tom, who is less than accommodating, told us "there's a table for 4 (there was 4 adults, a child and a newborn in our party) outside and that's the best I can do" with a very rude tone. Fine, we'll take it. My baby had to stay on the floor and Tom was not very helpful in getting a chair for my daughter. Throughout our dinner we notice Tom being rude to other waitstaff and customers. Tom turned away two parties at the door when there was clearly room on the patio near us. One party of two came by and he rudely asked one of the waitresses when her guests were leaving. She said they were having dessert, he huffed and turned the people at the door away. Two more separate parties came by and Tom turned them both away as well, but then ended up calling (literally yelling down the road) for the SECOND party to come back (the first party had less guests!!!) A guest was clearly on a date and wanted to remember the night and asked Tom to take a picture of the two of them. Tom was extremely rude and did said he needed to wipe down a table (takes 2 seconds to snap a pic). We felt rushed our entire meal.
