Extremely disappointing experience. The sev usal was overloaded with cinnamon and didnāt even have peas in it. The chutney with the vada pav tasted leftover and smelly. When I raised questions about the food, the staff rudely replied, āWe sell like this only.ā Very argumentative and no sense of customer service at all. We drove all the way from Cambridge because of vegetarian preferences, but it was not worth it at all. Worst taste, worst service, I would strongly advise others not to waste their time or money here.

First of all ā there were no peas in the Sev Usal. And when I asked, madamās response was āwe put very little and this is how we sell.ā Excuse me? So $11.99 just for cinnamon-overloaded watery gravy? 𤣠Thatās not food, thatās straight-up scamming customers with arrogance. The taste was horrible, and your attitude was even worse When we came in, the restaurant was completely EMPTY, not a single customer. And honestly, not even a fly was there. And you know why? Because even flies canāt tolerate your taste and your pathetic service.šš»š¤£
Despite having no customers, you still took over 30 minutes just to serve ONE vadapav. And then came your chilli drama, first you said $1.49 for 3 green chillies, but the moment we refused, your attitude changed because we dont wanted to pay for it. The batata wada chutney was literally ābaasiā. There is nothing new tgat i heard you people sale baasi food. That just proves youāre not running a restaurant, youāre just trying to squeeze money out of people any way possible.
The couple who came 25 minutes after us had to stand at the counter for over 10 minutes just to place their order. Thatās how āefficientā your service is, a dead empty restaurant and still you canāt manage. No one trusts your excuses because you clearly lack taste, service, and even basic respect for customers. And that couple gave you a feedback about us???? Oh ho questionable š¤Ø
And lastly, you didnāt need to tell us ādonāt come back.ā Donāt worry, even if you served it for FREE, we would never come back to destroy our taste buds...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs someone whoās always on the lookout for tasty and reasonably priced food, this place truly stands out and is a must-visit. I tried a variety of items including Gujarati dishes like Khaman and Dhokla, along with Dahi Bhalla, Dabeli (a soft bun stuffed with spiced potatoes and peanuts), and Vada Pav (a bun with a fritter and spicy chutneys). Every single item was flavorful and gave me a genuine taste of home ā fresh and high in quality.
While I was there, they were preparing Mango Lassi for another order and kindly offered me a sample. It was incredibly delicious ā I couldāve easily had a couple more glasses! [I didnāt order it, but definitely will next time.]
I didnāt pre-order, but even so, my food was served within 10 minutes of placing the order. Everything I wanted was on the table quickly, and the service was friendly and attentive. I regret not taking pictures to share ā it looked as good as it tasted.
For comparison, Iāve been to places in Canada like Honest Restaurant (where I usually get a Punjabi fixed meal for $25 per person), and Kailash Parbat. While all were good in their own way, this restaurant felt much more affordable for regular visits. Plus, the staff here go above and beyond to provide fresh and satisfying food.
I took the time to write this detailed review because Iāve often been disappointed even after spending a lot at other places. But here, I genuinely felt it was worth every dollar ā a great experience Iād recommend to anyone who enjoys authentic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wanted to love this place. I tried to keep an open mind. When I arrived there was one table empty but with a dirty plate. The young man ( teenager?), seemed to be the only one working the front yet there was another table of 2 that I am almost certain were the owners. Anyhow, he moved slowly, seemed unkempt, and had an air of nonchalant. Although he was very accommodating and helpful, to a degree, due to a language barrier? Once my order was taken, he went to walk away and leave the dirty paper plate on my table. I asked him to take it away. He did. The table was never wiped. Later I saw a sign to put your waste in the bin or something like that. Which is fine... paper plates and throw away cutlery. The food came and it was a lot! But I was warned. :) What I didn't expect was the amount of grease that came with the food. I can't remember the names of the dishes I had but they were chana and potatoes, and fried paneer. The flavours were delicious. I asked for water with my meal. When I reminded him he grabbed a bottle out of a case and handed it to me. Room temperature. For some, this might work. But for me? This restaurant is not worth a return visit. (I believe what I had was Chana Bhatura with...
