First time ordering Sushi Stars via UberEats and there was already a hiccup. We ordered 2 different platters, the UberEats driver ONLY delivered one of the platters. Either the Sushi Stars staff didn't pack probably with 2 platters or UberEats missed one of the platters at the counter. Anyhow, it's a total chaos afterwards where Sushi Stars blamed the UberEats Driver and UberEats Driver blames it's not his fault. At the end, Sushi Stars offered NO HELP and told us to figure it out with UberEats. Anyhow, the UberEats charges a lot of delivery $ which is an epic fail when the proper amount of food never came. And at the end, one of our friends had to drive over to the restaurant to pick up the 2nd platter that were sitting at the counter all these times the UberEats driver didn't pick up. and there were tons of lineup to order or pickup their platter. That took a long time to get the 2nd platter. Lessons Learned. At the end, we paid all the fees UberEats charged and yet we still have to drive to the restaurant to pick up the platter which defeated the purpose of paying the driver to deliver the food. Anyhow, back to the sushi platter that was delivered to us, it was a mixed of sushi rolls with small # of sashimi, it was ok, if this was in Toronto, it's just medicore, but I guess in Kitchener, people may give it a higher score, perhaps there isn't many decent sushi restaurant around to compare. This was the first time I seen a restaurant offers grapes in the sushi platter, a mixed of orange carrot strips with radish stripes as garnish. LOL I do have to applaud them for providing lots of soy sauce, wasabi, ginger, napkins and cutlery. Moreover, why on earth you serve the platter with 1 hand roll? My 1st time seeing a handroll in a sushi platter as it doesn't make any sense. If it's a platter, it means there is more than 1 person, so who is going to win that hand roll? Rock, paper, scissors? Or punch someone until the last person standing? Some of the stuff it served in the platter is mind boggling. Anyhow, overall it does the job with typical sushi rolls but nothing star-tacular. Definitely not "stars" but "star", taking out the plural letter "s" in the name, that's for sure.

Update - Fantastic as always!! My last review of Sushi Star was 5 years ago but the last time before lastnight that we've been was just before covid. Let me start off by saying 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sushi Stars has always been a good restaurant but our experience lastnight was fantastic from beginning to end. Every dish we had was executed with perfection, flavour, texture, presentation. It was all fantastic!! Service was impeccable, so much care and attention from ALL servers. Even servers who weren't assigned to our specific table were cleaning up and helping as they walked by. I don't think I've ever gotten that level of service with great attention to detail from a non fine dining restaurant. I cannot say enough how good the food and service was. A++ Sushi Stars, it's great to see what was always one of our favourite restaurants survive covid and come back even stronger. You've upped your game in terms of variety and service. If I had to nitpick on anything it's that my beef didn't come out sizzling like other tables and it's because it sat for too long before being brought out. Also I asked for no avocado and our rolls still came with it but I'm pretty easy going so it wasn't a big deal for me but wanted to leave an honest review. I'll still give 5 stars because I was blown away by the improvements so I really hope they keep it this consistent. Thank you for a great meal with my family. Old review - Pretty good, less selection for rolls than other all you can eat joints around town but the food is tasty. My one complaint is the floors are always slippery every time. I don't know if it's their cleaning products they let dry on there. No idea but my kid kept sliding and fell a couple times when we went in. Servers are nice and food is good, decent atmosphere as well.

We had the all you can eat dinner for $42 + tax. First off, the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. We sat down after a short wait, and the restaurant was packed. We ordered and within a few minutes our dishes started coming out. The sashimi was excellent the salmon was large and at the perfect temperature. It was our first time so we ordered all their "Must Try's" and we were not disappointed. There were many rolls to try with a bit of a different twist. The short ribs and beef dishes were tasty with a nice peppery flavour. One dish was a bite-sized roll called the Arctic it was very interesting. It had me thinking it was like a fresh shrimp roll with a mint like green but also had a small amount of crunch. We really enjoyed that. Our guests we dined with enjoyed the Honey Star roll. The Chicken Karaage looked like regular deep fried chicken but the batter was light with a good spice mix and the chicken was juicy and tender. Dessert was also good. The mango pudding had what looked like tapioca bubblrs, but they were filled with a lychee flavor that was very refreshing. There was only two things that were not great, the parking is limited (but it was at full capacity when we arrived) and the service was so fast we had trouble finding room on our table for the dishes. Perhaps we just weren't eating fast enough. Overall the best sushi experience I have had in the region. Looking forward to coming back,

So we went here two separate times. The place is small so make reservations. They have a 90 min limit and once reached, you can't order from the iPad any more. Although, they're kind enough to let us order desserts. Food is good and lots of different items from the usual AYCE fare. We were excited for it but I find that the food is too salty. Saturday dinner service - packed so make reservations - service was good. Wait staff was attentive - weekend dinner service has so much more on the menu than a weekday dinner service - food was pretty good although not all of the food we ordered came out but wait staff was happy to get it once we pointed it out. -sashimi was fairly good sized slices - lots of sushi options and the rice to filling ratio was pretty good. Monday dinner service - smaller menu than weekend but still lots to choose from - we found tonight's food, especially the meats to be on the saltier side. - service is still the same as weekend. Quite attentive wait staff Our faves were the sirloin with mushrooms. So tender than the steak teriyaki that comes in a hot plate. Lots of different kind of desserts other than just ice cream But they have black sesame ice cream which is just so yummy. They don't pre-scoop their ice creams which is appreciated. Overall, pretty good value for money with attentive wait staff and fairly good quality food. Oh and they serve Milkita as the after dinner candy. This was awesome

Sushi Stars is easily the best AYCE sushi in the Kitchener Waterloo area and further beyond that. The quality and taste far exceeds any other AYCE restaurant , as well as the presentation and attention to detail. Typically at an AYCE sushi restaurant you can expect poor meat quality and sub par sushi. But at Sushi Stars you get incredible meat quality, whether it be the sashimi, beef teriyaki, or other seafood, it is all well above average. All the dishes are well thought out and cooked perfectly, not to mention it always looks fantastic. I recommend the salmon teriyaki, any of the hand rolls, and the deep fried squid. they are amazing. Their service is quick and helpful, I have yet to have a bad experience with anyone there. Many times through the night servers will ask if everything’s ok, and bring napkins and water if need be. At a lot of other places you may interact with your server once at the beginning and when it’s time for the bill, little to no service is provided. But, here it’s again well above average. I highly recommend you give Sushi Stars a try, even if you have a favourite spot already. I can guarantee they will surprise you.

This buffet doesn't cease to disappoint in all aspects, providing delicious food consistently. Service is quick, and the usage of tablets rather than physical menus speeds up the ordering process. I did find that the dishes food was served in didn't exactly accommodate a large group, however. Often they'd bring one plate of a certain type of food and only half of my group would eat, followed by a 5 minute delay in which the rest of the food was brought where the rest of the group could eat. Truthfully, I'd rather have them just wait until both are ready. This does not detract from the food at all. Beef teriyaki was served sizzling and cooked to perfection. All meat was juicy tender and masterfully prepared. Rolls were excellent, and salmon sushi was among the best I've had. Fried foods like octopus did not disappoint either. A selection of desserts was available as well, including mochi limited to one per person. It was soft, doughy, and wonderful. All that being said, be prepared for your wallet to take a hefty hit as the price is certainly not cheap, but I still think it's more than worth it. I would absolutely recommend. 5/5
