The Cottage Cafe — Restaurant in Lambton Shores

Update 2024 - I've been coming every year for several years. I still love this little Cafe but the quality has dropped. My potatoes were soggy and cold and the cereal that came on the kids board was soft and very very stale. You guys are awesome and I think the Cafe is a beautiful little gem, please keep up with the standards you previously had.

Absolutely adorable little Cafe. Go early!! We went at 9am on a Saturday and blueberry muffins were already sold out. Scones were great, we got cheese and strawberry rhubarb, raspberry turnover is a must, lemonade was perfect and not too sweet which we really liked. Only disappointment were the croissants. me and Garry (my father in law) are staying in grand bend this long weekend and we decided to check out this bakery called the COTTAGE CAFÉ, and when we went we noticed that there was a ramp so Garry was was quite excited since he is in a wheel chair. Anyways when we ordered the staff were very nice and friendly but i wish i could say the safe for the meal. my mocha was only half full and they did not blend at all. the top was just coffee and the bottom was just melted chocolate. If you are getting a drink there, make sure to shake before use. Garry rated it a 3 and I rated it a 4 but i reminded Garry how there was a ramp, and he gave it at 4. One star sounds mean but that's exactly what our experience was worth! We went here for lunch on May 2nd because of the excellent reviews but were extremely disappointed. The British breakfast was $15.95 which included two sausages( definitely not pork sausages!), two small pieces of bacon( not complete rashers!) that were so overcooked we couldn't cut them. The home fries were 2 tiny pieces of potato patties. To top it off, it wasn't even hot. The second meal was the Belgian waffles. Definitely don't order these! They were 2 solid lumps of dough, undercooked with a "waffle" pattern imprinted in them. On further thinking, we should've returned the whole meal. Overpriced and would definitely not...
