I used to love this place, but the overall quality has really gone down under new management. Yesterday I came in with some friends, 5 of us, and our experience was very disappointing and not worth the money. Poor customer service, bad drinks and they were not upfront about additional charges. We ended up paying $80 for just 5 drinks due to some fee for staying too long (which we were not warned about).

3 of our drinks tasted off- like spoiled milk. It caused a burning/tingling sensation in the mouth which was very abnormal as I had ordered my usual drink and it’s never tasted like that before. The tapioca was overcooked as well, very soft and not chewy at all.

One of us went up and spoke up to the lady at the counter and asked if there was anything that could be done about our drinks, but they said they couldn’t do anything. So the three of us ended up just throwing out our unfinished drinks that we’d barely touched. We stayed to finish our game anyways.

When we initially came in, the server asked us if we planned on staying for more than one hour. We said we planned to stay for about an hour, to which the server said she’d come back and remind us when it’s time to leave. I felt this was a bit odd but didn’t think too much of it since nothing else was said and the server did not mention that this was a strict time limit and there would be a fee for staying longer. We stayed longer than an hour, but the server never came back and said anything to us and there were not many other customers around so we assumed there was no issue.

When we went up to pay, they charged us an extra $30 on top of our drinks. It was not very clear what this charge was for, but I believe it had to do with staying over the time limit. They did not provide any warning or explanation that there would be this additional cost. Our drinks alone costed around $50, but we were charged $80 something in total.

It’s a shame because my friends and I used to love coming here, but the way the new owners are running it now is really unfortunate and not acceptable. We will not be coming...

This place used to be absolutely wonderful. When the new management came in, everything went downhill.

I went there the night of writing this.

They overcharged us heavily for some games. I ended up paying $80 for 5 drinks. Management did not honour their game rules and charged us even though we had all purchased drinks. 3 of the milk-based drinks appeared to be spoiled. The lady brushed us off and the owner, some guy in a hat just stares at you the whole time.

There is no friendliness. There is no good ambiance or music. There are no good drinks anymore. The ingredients were clearly not fresh and the strawberry in the drinks were clearly from frozen packets. The Boba had a stinging sort of flavour, it is overcooked. The place is no longer well-decorated or anything else.

I remember the old owner. He was exceptionally kind, reasonable, and reassuring. You went to this place because it was a sort of paradise. I felt joy or looked forward to going when I did. I always recommended the place and more to anyone who would hear me out. The old owner had a certain care and affection for the store.

I do not like posting bad reviews as I understand they may hurt a business' bottom-line. However, this shop was the exception. The lack of effort was obvious. The quality was not there. The atmosphere is gone. The enjoyment of the drinks is not there.

I recommend Gong-Cha or some other places. You can tell how much care and effort the owner of Gong-Cha makes. We as consumers can only vote with our feet. We should reward businesses that make an effort.

Oh my goodness where to begin. This place use to be SO GOOD and now it’s awful. I think the ownership may have switched over but idk. So me and my friends go there, there’s 5 of us and we sit down and now they have these new rules about paying 10$ if you wanna stay for over an hour to play the board games? It was not like that when I went there before. And so we are seated at a nice booth table, the place is literally DEAD like one other group of 3 people in there at the time. So as we’re looking over the menu and deciding what we want, a group of 6 people come in (keep in mind there’s 5 of us) and so the lady server tells us we have to move to a smaller table because they are a bigger group??? Like what?? We are already seated here and put all our stuff down. AND there are literally other tables they coulda just pushed together for them but no she forced us to move. And so she moves us to a table with only 4 chairs but these are like the nice comfy chairs ok, and she grabs my 5th friend another chair that is an uncomfortable fold out chair and I had to tell her and be like “umm girl no??” Like grab one of the same chairs from another table. After we got kicked from our table we were kinda just like idk thrown off so we just left. Could not believe how horrible the service was.
