I have been looking for a good roaster near me and following my experience with this Brulerie's coffee, my search for good coffee is far from over.
I ordered a 440g bag of House Espresso. I own a Breville Dual Boiler and a Breville Smart Grinder so naturally I kept the beans whole. The cost of the bag was just shy of 19$, so I expected a fresh roast that would compete with other coffee-shop brands sold in that price bracket (49 Parrallel, Bows and Arrows, and the like). The barista assured me that the coffee had been roasted the Thursday prior to my purchase (making the coffee only 5 days old).
My disappointment was almost immediate upon opening the bag at home. The coffee was over-roasted, oily and black as tar. The smell emanating from the bag was anything but delicate and these factors alone should have stopped me from even putting the beans in my grinder. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I ground up two or three shots and the beans near clogged-up my grinder for how oily they were. The grind came out clumpy (which follows the oily profile) and the tamp felt humid. I pulled two shots and both tasted like dirt.
Beans have been thrown out. If you're going to charge premium prices for coffee, sell a...
Read moreThis is a review for the coffee roast. This place is the worst roaster possible all their roast are Black, oily and borderline burnt. An yes we have the machines from SEACO Miele and La marzocco GS3 not even as an emergency bean supply it's not even an option. Many attempts but disappointing each time. Selling beans at premium prices when the product is not at PAR with today's standards is a sin imo. Try instead serious roasters such as BBCR / pilot / Saint-Henri etc. I Hope they modernize their practices we are not in the 90's anymore!! Serve as a warning to all clients google it oily black beans are a sign of...

Pat even showed us the roasting process of fresh beans, I’ve never experienced a lesson in coffee anywhere! It was amazing! The coffee was perfection and the croissants were so fresh, I felt like I was in a tiny village in France. I would say having a coffee at this location is an experience and a great way to spend...
