An authentic Greek culinary experience that felt like a warm hug from the motherland!
As someone of Greek heritage, I'm usually very picky when it comes to Greek food outside of Greece but let me tell you, Greektown Grill didn’t just meet expectations… they smashed a plate over them and shouted OPA!
From the moment we walked in, Steeve and his team made us feel like we were visiting family back home. Courteous, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, the service was as warm and heartfelt as a Santorini sunset.
Now, let’s talk food, because wow. Every single dish, with every single bite was a flavour-packed homage to Greek tradition:
Fried Calamari – perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and served piping hot with just the right seasoning.
Fried Zucchini – thin, golden, and ADDICTIVE. Pair it with a bit of tzatziki and you’re instantly transported to an other world.
Saganaki – lit tableside with a satisfying OPA! and served bubbly and delicious. Salty, rich, and straight-up finger liking good.
Tzatziki – creamy, garlicky, and made with love (you could tell!). It was so good, we were dipping everything in it!
Gyro Dinner Plate – tender, juicy, perfectly spiced and generous in portion left me not being able to put my fork down.
Souvlaki Dinner Plate – the meat was grilled to perfection with that signature char, served with roasted potatoes and a salad that was chef’s kiss.
The flavours were authentic, the portions were generous, and the pride in every dish was obvious. It wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience that reminded me of family dinners, name days, and summer nights back home.
Whether you're Greek and craving a taste of home or just someone who appreciates honest, delicious Mediterranean food this place is a must!!!! I'll absolutely be back (probably next week). Thank you, Steeve and team, for the unforgettable...
Read moreReserved table for 6 was ready. Received menus promptly. Waiter (George) was a tad too friendly. Over-promoted the quality of all products on menu. Tempura zucchini well presented and delicious. Salad sizes and content were inconsistent with menu description and not served to correct people. Main dish (loose pork gyro for me) very dry and tough. Fries and rice were very ordinary. Yiayia potatoes boiled and passed briefly underneath the salamander for a bit of color. One person in our party asked for pita bread several times finally got it at the end of the meal 'no charge' (but it actually did get charged). The rock music was unpleasantly loud although we asked several times if they could pls turn down. Finally I was charged someone else's greater amount and when error was discovered the waiter asked another guest to pay my lower amount cause it was 'in the system !! and tossing a loonie across the table as a compensation cause he 'didn't have change'. Offensive billing/corrective practice. (Not to mention I regrettably tipped on the larger amount). Bathrooms need lots of freshening up. Not a great experience. Will...
Read moreWas a regular before covid, always a good experience. Back this week after a 2 year absence with fond memories, sadly memories is all I was able to enjoy. A friend and myself were given a table quickly and were attend quickly to. Service was all and all 5 star but that is where it all ended. The Greek salad, if there was a contest for a bland salad it was a winner, veg was fresh but no oregano !! In a Greek restaurant, must be a first , some tastless liquid for dressing, too bland to tell what it was . Fried calamari done in a very thick and greasy batter, tzatziki had 0 garlic in it , all it was is yogurt with some green specks in it . Bread , toasted a bit of oil , did not seem like olive oil , some microscopic green specks on it , again no garlic. Fried zucchini cut too thick to much batter , too greasy and 100% tastless. My friends chicken on a skewer, was just chicken ,free of any seasoning. French fries which should be a little greasy were bone dry and tastless ( probably dried out having been pre fried earlier on and reheated 20 times ) As mentioned at the start a good meal is now only a...
