Rôtisserie St-Hubert — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

Ate in the bar with my wife Jan 2020. The new renovations are great. Seating areas look high class and seats are very comfortable. Good vibe. Our waiter William was excellent. Answered all our questions and checked in on us on a regular basis even though the bar was becoming busy. We had the steak, medium rare, caesar salad and ribs. Excellent taste! We are used to eating steak at the "Keg" and this steak was very comparable, perhaps even tastier. The only negative thing was on leaving, the two young women at the front desk appeared more interested in their personal conversation than smile at us or thank us ....sometime casual but it was missing. Everything was as usual except when I went to pay with my credit card. The first thing I was asked to do was that I had to press the green button on the POST machine if I did not want to to leave a tip! This leaves the absolutely wrong impression with the customer. First I have no idea why I am leaving a tip when I, personally, did not instigate the thought. Then I felt that I was a bad person since I did not leave a tip. This short instance left a "bad taste" in my food experience. I do not blame the girl at the window but the management to allow such an occurence to happen. This does not mean that I won't get my food at St. Hubert again but I will discuss this with friends to get their feelings on such a happening. Very bad customer service when I called to get help placing an order with a coupon. Got this coupon when I placed a pick up order, now I wanted to use it the same way, there is no way of using this coupon unless you go physically there to place the order, aka waiting for 30min to get your order standing there. This coupon is not a great customer experience at all, and the agent I spoke to was not helpful in trying to help me use it through the app for my pick up order. I don’t have time to go stand there and wait for the food for 30min, only to use this coupon. St-Hubert, step it up, offer adequate customer service and usable coupons.
