Browns Socialhouse West Henday — Restaurant in Lewis Farms

Went to Browns Friday night for dinner and sat at the bar, as my wife and I usually do. When the hostess saw us she came over and asked us if we had been notified we were not allowed in the restaurant anymore and then told us to leave! She was quite rude about it…… Apparently this was a result of a situation back on Sept 23rd when we went to Brown’s Social House, and as we were sitting at the bar having dinner, a employee, who obviously had ended his shift and was sitting at the bar with another server, very drunk, and made it very uncomfortable, as he was extremely loud and every second word out if his mouth was the “F” word. Children were within earshot too. The Restaurant Manager was sitting across the bar from this employee, also drinking. We thought he might step in and ask the drunk employee to settle down and curb his language. Instead, the manager sent him over a free shot! Our jaws dropped! On the way out I stopped and complained to the manager about allowing a loud, profane, and very drunk employee sitting at the bar after his shift, and the fact that he continued to feed him free shots of liquor He said absolutely nothing, just ignored me and went back to his iPhone! We left shortly after. Unbelievably, we were subsequently BANNED for complaining about a bad situation and an incompetent manager! We had been coming to this restaurant since it opened and saw the deterioration of the standards in recent months. - It sounds like the animals are running the farm(!) It’s also interesting to see quite a few negative ratings lately, as well as a very high turnover in staff. Someone should look at cleaning house and hiring new, more mature managers. And BTW, be careful if you complain about anything at this Brown’s West Henday location - you might get BANNED! ...

Calamari...excellent. Very freshly made and quite an awesome portion too, the jalapenos are nice with it. Excellent light crispy batter.

The mushroom swiss burger was just awesome. Not going to lie I wasn't dying to have anything I saw on the menu and was kind of expecting the generic mushroom swiss burger you can expect a lot of the time. I was totally wrong....no overpowering thick sauce directing the flavour...just a perfectly cooked patty with delicious mushrooms, yummy cheese and some kind of awesome sauce.

I'm a fries guy. Love em, almost always get them. Got em this time. Not only did these not dissapoint, but they exceeded what I've come to expect from most food joints. Right out of the fryer and perfectly golden...and not just the smaller peices. EVERY SINGLE FRENCH FRY was crispy and delicious with very large portions. I actually could not finish them but tried my best. Gravy is perfect....not sure what kind it is but that type is my favorite. Thick but not too salty tasting with lots of flavor.

My wife had the ahi tuna crunch thing. She wasn't overly impressed though it was fine and completely eaten. There was a very large amount of kinda dry noodles with not too much leaf. The tuna was cooked beautifully though.

Started our evening on the patio while we waited for a spot inside as it was s little chili for us...heaters could quite keep up. Didn't take long to get a table and inside was very comfortable.

Tried hard to maintain cleanliness but waiter handed the door and then handled our drinks, other than that....great. Distancing is good we never felt to close to anyone.

Hidden gem!! I drove by this place all the time but never entered. Now that I have experienced the artsy, earthy, modern atmosphere with great food, we will go back for more ///////?!?!!!!!! change of thoughts after a couple of visits!!! Food is still great!!!! But watch out for your server's mood!!!!! I just left the restaurant with uneasy feeling what may have went wrong. l, myself, have 20 years of service industries experience and I can be very understanding when it comes to server's point of views. But the (only lady) server tonight was so awkward from the beginning. I just got off from 12 hours shift work, I expect comfort and friendliness like last couple of visits. Tonight, I got a princess wanting to just get through the night and looking mad at all times, we didn't know what the xxxx is wrong. But!! As a customer, I am there to relax at the end of a busy day. Not pleasing my server!!!! But she made us feel we were not welcome. Also, as we were paying cash, she was standing there watching us!!! I don't know if that is how she was trained, but compare to other restaurant experience where they just leave you alone to calculate, it was AWKWARD. It was not like she was trying to have nice chat at the end of service. Just standing there with grumpy face?!! Why??? She may be new to this industry, but I can say her attitude doesn't belong to this atmosphere. I miss the server(half blonde and half dark hair) we had last couple of visits. I don't want to go back, if I have to face this server from tonight. Totally ruined. I will only reduce 1 star from service as I liked previous...
