I really enjoyed this bar. When I visited we were a group of four. The beers are excellent. I tried two and liked both. The decor inside is pirate themed but had more of a hipster vibe instead of being tacky. The bathrooms were clean. The food was quite good. We shared a platter of interesting cheeses and meats and it was both diverse and tasty. The cod fritters (accras de morue) where well cooked and seasoned, but had too much potato. The inside was mushy, even if the taste was there, the toothfeel was underwhelming. The one thing I actively didn't like was that the terrace doesn't have any parasols. This summer we've had record breaking heat and there are parasol stands available, but they were empty. It seems ridiculous to me that we had to rush as a group to one of the the three tables available that offered any shade. It was nice however to see Quebec city and the saint Laurence from the terrace, even if there was a parking lot between us and the view. Overall, if I did take the ferry over from Quebec city I would go here again, but if it's too hot I'd avoid the terrace... and the...
Read moreWe selected the restaurant online, viewing what appeared to be a decent menu with a view of the St. Lawrence river. Upon arrival we noticed the patio was extremely small. As a result we could not be seated outside as it was full. Unfortunate as we are visiting the area. The decor left a lot to be desired (and I nean alot) as did the menu, which has it turns out was an extremely reduced menu as it was Sunday. I believe we had only three options for dinner. The food was tough and delivered only partially warm. The server should not have been in this role. And we questioned the cleanliness. Really the only good things about this restaurant were the Sangria's and the...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times in summertime for food and a beer on the patio. It’s always been very good! This time, my son was visiting me from out of province and he took my girlfriend and me for dinner! It was great! I had the pulled pork sandwich and the pork just melted in my mouth. I ordered mashed potatoes as a side which was also very good. I usually have the Davy Jones stout which I absolutely love. The nachos are always excellent there as well. I highly recommend the restaurant especially for non-French speaking tourists as it’s right by the Old Québec City to Old Lévis ferry terminal and most of the staff there speak English. It is an English style...
