Definitely family friendly. Preface, I was visiting QC from the States. I kind of liken this place as a Cracker Barrel, but with a more modern ambiance. The menu is simply curated, and it covers all the bases. Keep in mind the Canadian palate is a little different than Americans. The portions are smaller, but the food is more thought out. We're not just talking eggs and bacon here. More of a First Watch menu. The staff was super nice and helpful. French is the primary language here, but the staff tried very hard to communicate with me. They made me feel very comfortable. They do have menus in english if you request them. They told me Normandin restaurants use to be a staple in every Quebec town. Times were a little rough, and they eventually had to re-invent themselves to what they are today. COLD POUTINE! Not recommended for takeout! Ordered online at 7:10 pm. Arrived at 7:30 for pickup. Waited until 8:00 pm for my order which was supposed to be ready at 7:30. Food was COLD. Poutine was COLD. White rice served COLD with poke bowl. Was expecting noodles. Ordered a 3rd piece of fish for fish and chips, paid almost $5 extra for that. Did not receive 3rd piece of fish. Ordered beet salad which doesn’t even exist at the restaurant. Coming from Ontario, we were looking forward to the poutine experience. Very disappointing overall. Restaurant looked decent from the inside and, on a positive note, the staff were friendly. They offered to replace our meal with delivery but as we drove 5 hours to arrive at our hotel close by, and since our wait was already way longer than expected, we declined and ate — what we could — COLD. Ok service, Good food and great bar. Breakfast 24/7 is the best part about this restaurant. Try the '' assiette campagnarde'' at all cost. Best meal they have there. I was reading previous comments and I had to comment myself. This is not 1970's anymore. If you think you are a target of racism because you talk in English, then it means you feel prosecuted by everyone everywhere. There's a few people that lives here (in Quebec city) without any notion of French and they are not shunned by anyone. Go back to your cave and stop spreading lies and disinformation. You can comment on your poor service, fine, but don't pretend its because you talk English. You talk as if English speaking folks was a rare...
