I came here twice: Once with my friends and the other time, with my mom. I liked it the first time since it was foreign to me and I like trying new things. My friends knew I couldn't take spicy things so they recommended me something that's less spicy or something not spicy at all. It ended up being spicy still. Okay fine. I thought I could endure it as we went there for brunch dine-in but I ended up sweating and crying all the way through to finish it and then I ended up having stomachaches for a few days because the spiciness was too much despite it being the cumin pork burger. My friends can handle spice, so they ordered the five spices beef burger and something with chili in it. The second time I went there with my mom was the time where service wasn't as good as the first time around. I don't know if it had anything to do with me going with my mom as opposed to my friends but the frontline cashiers were being quite hasty and rude to my mom whilst speaking. They were speaking in a type of dialect we found it hard to understand but we still tried our best to follow along. We still got sort of yelled at in a way, but whatever. We went ahead and placed our order to take-out this time and I was smart this time to choose the all-vegan burger. Surely it wouldn't cause a reaction to my stomach, right? It was on the blander side which suit our taste, but interestingly, it still had to be spicy, though mild but I'm very sensitive to food so it was still quite a lot for me to endure. The atmosphere is loud because it acts as a food court place although they have their own franchise store outside First Markham Place. The place is quite jam-packed and narrow the more people try to squeeze in. It looks like a big space when you first enter, but as more people enter as peak hours arrive, you'll end up waiting outside instead because it gets super...
Read moreFood is great... When they get your actual order. I waited for ages and when i asked about my order i put in using the scanner, they told me it didn't go through. This is the 2nd time out of both times I've gone. At this point, I've already been charged on my credit card too... I tell them this and they said it didn't go through and they can't make my food. They wanted me to order (and pay AGAIN) just to get my order that I've been waiting 15+ mins for alrdy. (It's a fast food place so 15 is a long time...) I'm absolutely not paying twice to order. I left hungry. Oh also, i tried to call them back like they told me to if it didn't get refunded and they didn't pickup, or even have a voice message system in place. I had to email my credit card and go through the hassle of it all just cause they wouldn't give me what I ordered.
Edit: i went back in to follow up after 3 weeks and Gemi solved it nicely for me without too much more hassle. Unfortunately she couldn't verify my purchase cause the manager or someone wasn't in on a weekend, and clearly no one i called had followed up on this purchase order. Either way, i still left hungry that day and had to keep this on my to-do for a month which i shouldn't have had to. As someone who works in service, they should've done more than refund me to keep me as a customer. Unfortunately I won't go back even if their food can be quite uniquely found here.
On another note, it's a cute designed place. Pretty messy both times i went. Probably because it's fast food. Food is genuinely unique and offers something different. Just... I need my food in order to be able to enjoy it... And i left very hungry...
Read moreI actually really wanted to like this place, but it was pretty disappointing. I think everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Take this advice before you go, it’s not worth the hype but it doesnt hurt to try once.
[Wait times]: It opens at 11:30am, we arrived at 11:45am and the service is slow. We waited until 1pm (1 hour) in line JUST to Order. If you want to avoid wait times i suggest you arrive before opening hours.
[Food]: There is a problem with Bingzi over or under flavouring their food Signature Burger: Only item that tastes good, would recommend! Sesame wonton: The sauce is pretty good but the wonton meat was dry. Liangpi with chilli oil sauce: Average noodles, not much flavour except for it being spicy. Black Pepper Crispy Burger: Very salty, could not finish it Plum Cold-brew: It’s very sweet, tastes like grape kool-aid but plum flavoured
[Price]: It’s pretty expensive for what it’s worth, I spent $41 on 2 combos and one extra burger. The portions are also small.
[Customer Service]: The person at the door kept incentivizing us to get the combo for a cheaper deal. I would say avoid the combo because after adding the plum drinks, you’re basically paying $3.50 for a drink. It’s better to get the items individually. Also, the girl didn’t want to help us with our wrong order. After ordering, there was a mixed item on the receipt, instead of fixing the proper item, the girl told me “oh, I can’t help you, but you can try again next time”. How can you not when I literally just ordered? She also didnt want to fix it and moved onto the...
