I had to come back a second time! My friend and I dined here two weeks ago and we recently brought another friend to share the pleasant experience. Our goal was to convince her that this would be the perfect venue to host our birthday dinner. Spoiler alert- our friend was sold at just the appetizers. From the beginning and while being seated, Andrea had made a pleasant return as our server and quickly dressed the table with a warm smile. After a brief chat over our previous visit, she recognized that we had brought a new friend and was quick to suggest drinks that would go well with the dishes we'd be trying that evening. Among other things, I also came back for the espresso martini. Since our return, we opted to try different main dishes to compliment the appetizers we were fixed on; tiger shrimps and bruschetta to which Kevin made a quick visit at our table. For the mains we tried something from the pasta, pizza and entree options: linguine bolognese, pollo bianco pizza and strip steak (all pictured). Bolognese had just enough richness, body and texture to the sauce while the herb chicken on the pizza was tender and a light alternative without compromising full flavours. The strip steak was my absolute favourite. Plated with potato gnocchi, surrounded by roasted pancetta vegetable medley, sitting in a spread of pan jus reduction- amazing. Paired a glass of J.Lohr's, I wasn't sure if I had room for dessert. We definitely finished our plates. We had accomplished our goal in having enough variety of dishes that would cater to each of our palates and potentially our invitees. Our night finished off with their staple tiramisu, but added the pistachio tartufo since we felt fancy. Overall, with the quality of the food and the consistent hospitality provided by the Ferrovia staff, we were set on bringing our friends and family to celebrate our birthdays here. We felt a sense of family knowing that the entire staff take pride in not only knowing their returning customers, but make an effort to make new faces feel welcomed enough to come back.

Jan 12, 2025: 2nd visit 4/5 stars In our 2nd visit, we tried the chef’s special of Lobster Tail Risotto and Penne with Beef, Caramelized Onions and Asparagus. Both were delicious. The risotto was good and the lobster tail was cooked perfectly. The beef in the penne was soft and savoury and complimented well with the caramelized onions and asparagus. The Baby Kale Salad was refreshing and good. The Rigatoni Sausage was okay. The rigatoni and sausage were good but something was missing. The Amante Della Carne Pizza which has a combo of pepperoni, pancetta, prosciutto, soppressata, green chilli and spicy honey sauce was okay. This pizza was a bit on the salty side with variety of cured / deli meats. We also couldn’t taste much of that spicy honey sauce. The Banana Pudding was okay. It definitely was missing something to it. The Tiramisu was awesome. Would definitely recommend. — Dec 29, 2024: 1st visit 5/5 stars The food and service at Ferrovia Ristorante was awesome! We tried the chef’s specials and both main dishes were delicious and savoury. The Arctic Char was awesome. The fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked. It was soft, moist and savoury. The veggies (Brussel sprouts and green beans) were crisp and delicious. The potato was soft and delicious. The Rib Steak (14 oz) was good. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare for us. The steak was moist, tender and savoury. The mash potatoes were filled with buttery goodness and flavour. The asparagus was good and crispy. The Baby Kale Salad was good. It was a good and refreshing salad that had cranberries which provided the slightly tart sweetness and pine nuts which added texture. The honey citrus dressing added in that sweet citrus flavour to make a good Baby Kale Salad. The Tiramisu was awesome. It was creamy but light and not too sweet. They make a real good Tiramisu dessert here :) Would definitely recommend.

What a hidden gem! We happened to meet the chef by chance and made a date to visit - wow. Far exceeded my expectations. I’ve never heard of this spot and I’m so glad we got introduced. Honestly, having travelled Europe, this food was equal or better to meals I’ve had there. The service was definitely faster and more attentive! We ordered cocktails and wine - cocktails were great, super impressed. Proper glassware and ice cubes. Wine was perfect, great amarone. For starters we chose the black tiger shrimp, the beef carpaccio, antipasto platter and a short rib pizza. My favourite was the fresh burrata on the antipasto and the beef carpaccio…sooo melt in your mouth. Pizza was awesome, authentic wood oven style. For entrees two of us got the short rib - that is a MUST. One of the best pieces of meat I’ve had. Others in our party very much enjoyed the authentic pasta dishes with fresh seafood. Portions were very generous as well. For dessert the banana bread pudding and tiramisu are the winners. So decadent yet light. The gelato was also super fresh and tasted homemade. I think we did our job testing this menu ;) …special mention to the bartender who surprised us with the quality of cocktails and our warm, attentive, super helpful server Paola! She made great recommendations and was always checking in at the right times. Replacing plates, cutlery, 11/10 service. We cannot wait to go back and share this place with others. Thank you chef and team!

I would have given this place a 5 star but my experience last night definitely has ruined that and will definitely be the reason I never come back again. My partner and I made reservations March 11 for 8:00pm, we were here two weeks ago and loved the experience that we had to come back to support the business. The owner was really kind to us and welcoming. Yesterday we ordered pizza, risotto, pasta, shrimp appetizers and had our final meal of desserts around 9:40pm.

I paid via Apple Pay at 10:03pm (we lost track of time and I realized we were the last few customers in the store) at 10:00pm the restaurant closes. We left at 10:05. I realized 15-20 minutes after we left that I had forgotten my YSL purse worth $2000 inside the restaurant. I had zero panic because I had placed my bag on the chair closet to the wall and absolutely nobody would be able to spot the purse except for the server and workers cleaning. I was also not worried because we were practically the LAST customers who left the restaurant. When I called back the owner told me he would check to see if my purse was on the chair but I was advised it was not found anywhere. I asked if my waitress may have seen it as she’s the only would that would spot it given where I had put it. The owner told me the waitress had left. The waitress was informed by the owner of what happened and she denied seeing the purse. How ironic right ? We leave the restaurant at 10:05 they close at 10:00 and the person cleaning the table did not see it ? How ironic right ? How suspicious and absolutely bizzare.

The owner advised us that there are no surveillance cameras and was unable to check and see if anyone had taken it. It’s absolutely bizzare that a restaurant for over 20 years does not have cameras.. but what’s even more bizzare is that clearly it’s one of the workers who stole my purse and is not coming clean about this. The YSL purse was a present I bought for myself after graduating my bachelors. It was MY hard work and money that got me that nice present. I will never come back to this restaurant where there is not sense of security or safety and when the employees themselves seem so dishonest. Side note: if you bring any valuables with you and I PLEASE RECOMMEND DONT. But if you do, leave your items with you at all times because trust me the employees are not to be trusted.and when I say employees I am literally directly talking about the blonde waitress whom I forgot to...
