Food: 3 Stars Service: 3 Stars Ambience: 3 Stars Value: 3 Stars Overall: 3 Stars Flavours of Unionville offers a satisfactory experience for those seeking a sweet indulgence in Unionville. Known for its variety of ice cream flavours, the shop stands out in the local scene. During my visit, I appreciated the rich, creamy texture of their ice cream and the wide range of flavours available, from classic vanilla to more adventurous options like salted caramel crunch. The staff at Flavours of Unionville were courteous and helpful, providing recommendations when asked and ensuring efficient service. The atmosphere inside is cozy and inviting, perfect for enjoying a treat with friends or family. However, the seating area felt a bit cramped, which could be uncomfortable during peak hours when the shop is busy. While the quality of the ice cream is commendable, I did find the pricing to be on the higher side for the portion sizes offered. This might be something to consider, especially for families or larger groups. Overall, Flavours of Unionville is a reliable choice for ice cream lovers looking to satisfy their cravings with quality desserts. Despite minor drawbacks like pricing and seating space, the delicious flavours and friendly service make it a worthwhile stop in Unionville. kellychan360

Still standing after all these years. Just like the Old Firehall Confectionery. Everyone knows what a mainstay this place is for gelato and ice cream. The funny joke I make with my friends is that I've never once seen a single person buy bubble tea from this place even though one of the signs says "bubble tea" on it. For gelato, I truly think there's not a place in markham that has this many flavours. There's some flavours here that I've never seen anywhere else. Moreover, no other place can topple their pistachio gelato. The staff looks identical to when I was back in high school as if none of them have aged LOL. Making gelato must be calm and destressing haha. I tried bacio with my gf for the first time recently and I really liked it! It might be one of my new faves. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they went way past "normal" inflation measures and 1 scoop is gougingly expensive now. Can't blame them but the 5 star value is not there imo.

It has been rudely hot over the past couple days, so it was only a matter of time before I took myself over to Flavours of Unionville for an icy treat. Flavours of Unionville is a cute, little dessert spot tucked away along Main Street Unionville. There is no public access to inside the shop, (so no seating), but on an enjoyable, sunny day take a seat on some of the benches outside, or just enjoy a walk along Main Street. My original thought was to try some good old fashioned gelato, but the delightful lady suggested I go with choice #2, affogato. What's affogato? Think gelato meets espresso. I'm told that they make it with vanilla bean rather than vanilla extract, for that quality vanilla flavour. They've also apparently got a secret gelato recipe that they devised in-house, but I'm mostly only interested in it tasting delicious with great texture. Spoiler alert; it does. Go get some!

I’ve been coming to this store for a long time, and it honestly breaks my heart to say it’s just not the same anymore. I’m pretty sure they sold it recently — I think to a Filipino family — and ever since the change in management, everything has gone downhill fast.

The biggest issue is communication. Most of the staff don’t speak English, and it’s become a real problem. I try to tell them what I want, and they just stare at me looking completely confused. Then they walk to the back to ask another worker who speaks more fluent English. Half the time, they end up switching jobs mid-order just so I can be helped by the one person on the team who does speak English. And to be clear, that person really tries to help and does their best, but it’s obvious the whole team is struggling — and so are the customers. It’s awkward, frustrating, and honestly just sad.

This used to be one of my favorite spots. The service was fast, reliable, and the staff knew how to communicate and get things done. Now it’s a hassle every single time. It never used to be like this. I don’t understand why they sold it, if they even did — but it definitely feels like it. And if that’s the case, they should’ve made sure the new team was better prepared to handle customer service in a community where English is the main language. It feels like the soul of this place is gone.

They really need a more diverse and better-trained team. It shouldn’t be this hard to place a...

This place has become a complete joke. I don’t know what happened or who thought it was a good idea to hire the current staff, but it’s absolutely ridiculous now. One of the Asian workers was straight-up RUDE. Took 20 minutes to make ONE ice cream, gave me the wrong one, and when I told her it was wrong, she had the nerve to argue with me and say “No, it’s not.” Are you serious? Instead of just fixing it, she wanted to fight me about it like I didn’t know what I ordered.

Meanwhile, her and the other employees are just standing around, speaking in their native language, laughing, making jokes, and ignoring customers. It’s like they don’t care at all. What are they even being paid for? Because it sure as hell isn’t for customer service. Eventually, another worker stepped in, apologized, and gave me the right one — but the damage was already done. I was standing there embarrassed and pissed off for absolutely no reason.

This used to be a decent place, and now it’s just full of chaos and unprofessionalism. It feels like the boss just hired some whole asian family and now they all run the place like it's their own living room, not a business. Talking over customers, ignoring issues, joking around instead of helping — it's unbelievable.

Whoever owns this place needs to get it together and clean house. This is NOT how you run a business. It's sad, frustrating, and honestly insulting to loyal customers....
