Now called "Longing Fusion Cuisine" when in the past, it was called Chef 88.
The interior looks pretty much the same as before, nice chandlier lights, bright, modern, inviting for a Chinese traditional dinner.
They serve dim sum as well and we enjoyed our Dim Sum experience.
For tonight, we came here for a family dinner. They offer a various set of dinner combos (pricing are competitive and relative similar to other Chinese restaurants serving same type of cuisine and tier level).
Currently, they are giving every table 1 complimentary steam lobster as a FREE dish for dinner. The lobster is about 1 lb but it's a nice gesture and the lobster is decent.
We were blown away by the excellent service. Superb, which is very rare in Chinese restaurant standards. So impressive that I have to emphasize here.
A manager level server came over informing us that the fish maw soup has shrimp, so if anyone is allergic to shrimp or seafood, be aware. This is the 1st time I am at a traditional Chinese restaurant that a server will inform us to be alert with shrimp in case of allergies. LOL
The staff who presents the plate of food, those Asian aunties were all smiley, courteous and thank you us and it was a rare sight.
Furthermore, the servers came and changed our plates at least 5 times, coz we had crabs and lobsters on our dinner combo, that's super attentive. We were blown away.
Everything tastes very delish and tasty. We also found the seafood they serve were pretty fresh. There are other Chinese restaurants who will serve you borderline unfresh seafood just to cut corners, but not here, the seafood were great and flavourful.
Even the fish was grouper and not the cheap white fish/basa fish other restaurants serve. We felt very comfy of the quality of the meat and dishes being served here at Longing Fusion.
We will definitely come back here for more future dinner outings and will make this a more frequent visit in the...
Read moreWorst restaurant now! Never have I ever been to a Chinese restaurant that now automatically charges for service fee in order to pay them tip. I really don’t mind giving them tip at all but it’s just not right to put it on their system to demand people to pay for their service. It seems like new owner is greedy for money and forces people to pay for tip instead of people naturally giving the servers tip If weather they deserve it or not for how they serve and respect customers. And the dim sum menu food has increased price and also downgraded big time after new owner took over this restaurant that used to be “chef elite 88” here. And also service was also wasn’t as good as before. Please be aware if you going to eat here, you will be charged for service fee here. Nobody where else for dim sum in Toronto or Mississauga or even other dim sum in Markham does this! I don’t recommend anyone to eat here, Save your money to go somewhere else to eat instead! If this was still the old restaurant, the food and service would have been so much better and you wouldn’t have to be forced to pay tip from before, Especially quality in food was the best out of all. Chef Elite 88 will be...
Read moreFood was ok. The angus beef dish was delicious. The Crab meat and corn soup had no taste at all. The rest of the dishes we ordered were just okay including the lobster.
The Big issue i have was the service I got when it was time to pay the bill. The waitress we had offered us a lobster special for the night for $26/lb. We had already finished ordering when she told us but we got intrigued w the offer and ordered about 5 lbs.
This was near closing time so our waitress said she was leaving and said bye to us. She was great to us.
The manager gives us the bill later on when we were done , I noticed they charged us $32/lb for the lobster. I told her thats not the price given to us earlier. She kept arguing very rudely how thats the price and I can even go to supermarket to check prices on lobsters. She continued on to be very rude but i refused to pay that price. About 15 mins later she finally changed it. Our bill was over $400 and she felt the need to argue over $30. Absolutely ridiculous and I would never return here. The previous owners at chef 88 were much...
