Ordered from here once off of UberEats, and I knew I had to go try out more of their menu in person because of it. Brought some friends with me so we could order more of their selection here to share, and not break the bank 😊 -[DIPS TRIO] $18.00 🍞 the three dips we got were Tzatziki (yogurt-based sauce with garlic, dill, and cucumbers), Taramosalata (salted and cured cod or carp roe dip), and Melitzanasalata (roasted eggplant dip, with garlic, parsley, red onions, and lemon juice) 🍞 this dips trio is served with a mix of bread, and cut up pita 🍞 all three dips are ones I would order again -[CHICKEN/PORK SOUVLAKI STICK] $5.00 🐔 each stick costs $5 but is so worth it 🍖 both were super flavorful, and perfectly cooked 🧅 served with a side of diced onions, and Tzatziki -[GRILLED OCTOPUS] $22.00 🐙 this octopus is served with a fresh wedge of lemon, and diced onions 🍋 although we did squeeze the lemon onto it, it was so fresh that I would say even without the lemon, it would have been fine 🐙 super tender, and easy to cut into due to their ability to cook this to its perfect doneness -[GREEK FRIES] $8.00 🍟 a hefty helping of fries topped with feta, oregano, and olive oil 🍟 goes really well with the dips as well 👀 -[CALAMARIA] $17.00 🦑 crispy squid, served with a fresh lemon wedge, and Tzatziki 🦑 once again, super tender, and flavorful -[ROASTED POTATOES] $6.00 🥔roasted Greek potatoes are a staple of any Greek restaurant so we had to order this to try 🥔 they tasted like they were braised in a lemon-garlic flavored broth, and then slightly roasted 🥔 look at the portion size for just $6 👀 I would order everything again (even if I came back alone haha)

My gf and I came for first time dine-in on a thursday night. We parked a bit north of the resto down the street (it was about a 10 min walk). We sat down and a server came over right away with water and some menus. We ordered the pikilia (which is basically a giant meat platter). The platter came with lamb chops, chicken and pork souvlaki, chicken and pork gyro and a sausage. It also included a large greek salad, tzatziki sauce and bread but we asked the server if we could sub the salad out for some carbs like rice or potatoes and she said sure (we subbed the salad for roasted potatoes). The meat was delicious! Juicy, flavourful and nice hefty portion size. Before sending our order through I double checked w/ the server to ask if it would be enough food and she assured me it would be. Good call! The roasted potatoes were fantastic too! Very lemony flavour profile and sooo tender. I do think if we ordered the pikilia again in the future we'd ask for rice though because the meat was very rich and I think the rice would've balanced out the flavours more. The tzatziki sauce that came on the side was *chef's kiss*. Be sure to ask for a refill(s) if you run out! The menu is not that big so you know it's a sign that they can focus on making a select number of dishes with high quality. Will definitely be back again!

For the sake of full disclosure, I typically don't care from Greek food. Maybe it's just because I've been hustled by friends with questionable tastes into sub par experiences. Whatever the case may be, my hopes were not super high when walking into Main St. Greek. I was in a rush to get some quick lunch, so I stuck with a standard and ordered a chicken gyro. ("Euro"? "Giro"? Whatever floats your boat.) After a short wait, I was pleasantly surprised with how deeply satisfying this gyro was. It's served on thick pita bread, spread with a healthy amount of tzatziki, sprinkled with diced tomatoes and onions, and heaping with chicken and fries. Though the ingredients seem pretty simple, it started to nudge my emotions a bit with the flavourful, yet still mild tzatziki. (I've been bored by simply mild tzatziki way too many times before.) I have to thank the guys at Main St. for the borderline unreasonable amount of chicken that they pack in this guy. They're fighting the good fight against skimpy meat portions. Bless them. Aside from the food, the decor of the restaurant is really nice to look at. There are large windows bordering much of the space, and the decor in general has a simple, clean feel. I'd be happy to come back and see how much I enjoy the rest of their menu.

I have to say I really love their food, but was unfortunately really disappointed the last time I was in. I am not a picky person at all and feel it is wrong to complain on one incident, although this was a persistent issue, not just a one moment issue. I chose to drive over an hour just to come here on my birthday (that’s how much I love the food!). When we arrived and were seated, my cup had something on it. Not a big deal at all, got it switched up. Then, we wanted pork. They were out of pork, had to get chicken. Not perfect, but things happen. That’s okay too! Then, it came time to pay. We were more than happy to tip (because to me, that’s what you do when you sit down anywhere). The waitress handed me the bill and said “just so you know the tip is not included.” “Okay, thank you,” I said in reply. She comes closer as I am on the machine and says again, “you know there is no tip included, right?” “Yes, I understand.” I am not joking, she repeated this 2 more times as she is staring over my shoulder watching me input all of my information on the debit machine. This is exactly how you do not receive a tip. Needless to say, I won’t be back for my birthday dinner again. It honestly broke my heart. Regardless of the other issues that evening, I still was going to tip her. I work in the food industry too! I know how much that helps, but I have never in my life pressured anyone into tipping. Little did she know this was my big birthday dinner that I had been waiting months for. Please, think about how that makes others feel before pressuring a tip, and understand the consequences in doing so. If you put in effort, treat your customers with love and respect, and thoroughly enjoy your job, tips will come. You really just have to smile ❤️ More smiles would be a benefit to your location. All the...

Anybody giving this place an unfavourable review needs to have their head examined. This place is a treasure. It’s a hidden gem. Their formula is simple. They serve delicious, fresh, authentic greek food at more than reasonable prices. It’s run by an authentic greek family from greek town on the Danforth (as far as i know) so these guys know exactly what they’re doing. They work like a well oiled machine. They’ve got everything down to a science. It’s amazing to watch them perform their craft. During the busy dinner hour, the phone rings off the hook with takeout orders and there’s a steady stream of Uber Eats etc drivers as well. Personally, I usually order takeout, but the sit down dinners are equally as impressive. My go to “sit down” meal is the pork souvlaki dinner with greek salad and fries with a side order of saganaki. DELICIOUS. If you just wanna pick up some takeout, you HAVE to get the pork gyro to go. It’s a MUST. Served on a pita, loaded with freshly carved, perfectly seasoned mouthwatering pork, complete with tomatoes, onions, tzaziki and a couple of french fries, its absolutely scrumptidillyicous. For $9, you’ll eat your socks off. Trust me. And you can’t go wrong with the chicken gyro as well. Equally as delicious. I usually pick up a small single serving side greek salad to go as well. Made fresh, they’re authentic as well and come with a beautiful (probably homemade) greek dressing. If u want delicious authentic greek food, this is the place. The food is amazing. Great bang for the buck. Super friendly, highly skilled, competent, hard working staff. What’s not to like? Plus your supporting a wonderfully run, successful local family business. Can you say WIN WIN? Like i say, you gotta have a screw loose to criticize this place. Markham is lucky to have...
