Extremely disappointed with not only the service but the whole experience. My family was down from Calgary and we decided to make reservations with Mauros for NYE. When we asked any reccomendations for popular pastas on the menu our waitress's answer was "I don't know". My sister asked her how a certain dish was, whether the sauce is creamy, and again she was extremely rude saying " No idea" with no other suggestions about any items on the menu. We also asked about the beer and wine list and again she gave the "I don't know." I don't expect the waitress to know all the items on the menu however she could be more friendly and give opinions and suggestions on what has been popular and what people order alot of.
Once we had ordered I informed our waitress I had a severe nut allergy. I had ordered the chicken alfredo. She came back to me and said the sauce had nutmeg but they could use another sauce which was garlic. I agreed. Ten minutes later she came back saying the kitchen can't guarantee anything and won't make anything separate for me. So I asked for a hamburger plain and she rudely answered "I can't guarantee anything. The only thing you can have is plain steak no sauce and potatoes."
We didn't order and left Mauros immediately. I have been to many restaurants who are very sympathetic and accomodating with nut allergy or any allergy for that matter. I felt completely disregarded and basically was sensing that she did not want us eating there once I had informed them of my nut allergy.
I would not recommend this place as it was very unwelcoming from the start and clearly customer service is not a priority for all.
If I could I wouldn't give this place 1 star. Very disappointing especially on...
Read moreIf you can't handle a burger and fries, you have no business serving food.
My burger arrived with a bun that literally fell apart when I picked it up. While the server went to get a replacement, I found a long brown hair integrated with my fries (not on top, literally threaded in the fries). My partners pasta dinner was tasteless and not enough sauce was provided. It was supposed to be four-cheese pasta, but we could not find any filling in the ravioli.
My biggest problem was with the owner, who we were told was on-site and was conversing with our server. When a customer has so many issues at one meal (bun, hair, overall food quality), the owner/manager should come out and deal with it. Sending your wait staff out to do your job for you out was very poor form. We also got the impression there was a bit of confusion on the restaurants end as to where the hair came from. My bald self and my red-headed girlfriend didn't quite know how to take that. We were polite and reasonable throughout the whole thing.
I will end with a commendation to our server. She had a bad situation, and dealt with it in a friendly, albeit chagrined, manner. Good on...
Read moreLove it. I usually get a burger and I would say the best burgers in town. Thick patties, good flavor, a double isn't required buuuuut go for it anyway. You know you want to. I have tried their chicken caesar before. The lettuce/dressing was meh but the chicken had some very unique spices. Won't be my regular but I would still recommend you try it at least once. My girlfriend had the chicken alfredo pasta. I don't remember which one specifically but it was good too. The price is right. Karaoke on Saturdays is funny. I feel the area around the restaurant looks sketchy/older, but the inside is really nice. It's hard to say what specifically sets it apart but it is one of my preferred places to go to eat in MH. It has little extras like VLTs, TVs, pool, Karaoke. Aside from Karaoke night it's always a quiet atmosphere during normal meal times (not sure if it gets rowdy around midnight or not). Honestly the main reason I keep going back is the food. The staff is nice too but I have always enjoyed my meal there. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but I've enjoyed...
