Horrifically Disgusting Experience
Our go-to Chinese restaurant was closed for a staff holiday, so after reading the high rates reviews, we decided to not judge the book by it's cover and give it a try—big mistake.
The "War Wonton" soup was a disaster. It contained one oversized carrot chunk, the end of a celery stick, a large piece of onion, a bit of cabbage, a burnt piece of pork, lots of wontons and chicken—but the broth? Absolutely awful. It smelled burnt nothing like any wonton soup we've ever had (or would want to eat).
My husband’s combo was equally disappointing—how do you mess up chicken fried rice? The almond chicken had an unpleasant, greasy odor reminiscent of an old diner, while the chow mein consisted of a few large, burnt vegetable chunks haphazardly thrown into a container. To top it off, the almond chicken gravy came in a thimble-sized portion and had the texture of old jelly.
The entire meal smelled burnt, greasy, just so bad, we threw it out, and took the trash out to get the smell out of the house. We were hoping for a new stand by spot but were left disgusted and deeply disappointed. It's unnfortunate you have to give a star to rate a restaurant, this would...
Read moreIm not sure what the people who wrote the 1 star reviews were going on about. This place is awesome. Im in town for the night for work and wanted some dinner. I got the bbq pork chow mein with the sweet and sour pork. The food is great, portions are generous and the price is right. The service was also friendly and very quick. The ONLY gripe i have is the prices on their menu are a little off. I paid $25 for both items which is still an amazing deal considering the amount of food and the friendly service i got. If i were to go to somewhere like panda hut this would easily be a $35-$40 bill.
When im next in medicine hat i will absolutely be...
Read moreDropped into Park Lane Restaurant for the first time with my wife tonight. First off the service was pretty good nice and friendly. Price wise can't really beat it. The deep fried wontons were cooked perfectly and had a nice crunch. The Ginger beef how ever wasn't the best I ever had but then again wasn't the worst. The chicken fried rice was very good so good I was going to order more to go... My wife enjoyed her work wonton soup she really liked the flavor it and she said would most definitely order it again. I'd likely pass on the Ginger beef and go with something...
