According to google, Merrit is a town full of essential needs. However, what google lacks is their ability to express the gold mine of a pub they have in the heart of the town, The Grand Pub & Grill.
Nested in the heart of Meritt, Grand Pub & Grill offers a welcoming escape for locals and visitors alike. Whether you're stopping by for a quick beer or settling in for a leisurely evening, this cozy gem offers everything you need for a perfect night out, or pit stop like myself. From the minute you walk through the door, you’re greeted with the warm buzz of friendly chatter and the inviting smell of comfort food being freshly prepared. Speaking of warm buzz, look closely behind the bar to be greeted with a range of drink specials (Paralyser for $5.95? Can’t say no to that).
Grand Pub Grill doesn’t just serve your average pub grub—it elevates it. The menu is packed with hearty, satisfying dishes that take pub food to the next level. From their bao buns, Sheppards pie, to the ringer burger… absolute bang for your buck.
What sets the Grand Pub & Grill from other places is their fantastic drink specials, which perfectly complement the relaxed atmosphere and good food. From classic to inventive cocktails that will leave you coming back for more, the drink menu has something for everyone. On Fridays, you can enjoy their 5.95 paralysers—an unbeatable deal to sample as it’s one of the best this small town has to offer. Speaking of deals, for the cocktail lovers again, double Long Island ice teas everyday for $5.95… can’t say no.
The service here is truly something to rave about. From the moment you sit down, the staff makes you feel like family. The waitstaff is attentive without being overbearing, and they’re always ready with a smile. Now, something this pub offers that most pubs in surrounding towns don’t offer, great atmosphere. With its dim lighting, rustic wooden tables, and an electric mix of vintage posters on the walls, it feels like stepping into a local secret hideaway. The pub strikes a perfect balance between lively and laid-back vibes, making it a great place to catch up with friends or simply enjoy a drink and feed with your friends. Thanks Shaz for everything, I...
Read moreFood took almost an hour to arrive to our table despite the restaurant being slow... add to that our waitress was not at all attentive to us and most of the staff seemed to hide out behind the bar rather than serve and check on their patrons. Our waitress didn't check once if we needed refills on our drinks or even provide updates on our meals or provide any explanation for why the wait for pub food was so long!! We finally had to flag her down from across the dining room just to attend to the very basic service you should receive when dining out of drink refills. After almost an hour our meals FINALLY arrived which we would have been a bit more accepting of the wait if they were actually good meals BUT unfortunately they were not! My bf's steak was super overcooked he asked for medium rare and received a well done steak. My mother's steak was also overcooked since she also asked for medium rare and received her steak medium as well her mashed potatoes were flavorless and chunky. I ordered a beef dip and was not impressed by a single component of it particularly the fries since they had very little flavor and clearly were not salted at all after frying them I tried to salt them myself but the salt wouldn't stick due to them being so dry and overcooked. Unfortunately at this point after waiting close to an hour to eat we were starving and just ate the disappointing meals that were provided to us... well besides the fries which I just left on the table since they were very bland overcooked and tasteless. Disappointing since it looked like this restaurant had quite...
Read moreEdit (for owner): For clarity, we were not impatient. She told us it could take almost an hour for the food to arrive and we said we were fine with that. We were still patient when we saw that she was serving other customers who came after us first. She was rude to us first by throwing menus, yelling for our IDs, and the selection of salad dressing. Why would we be nice to her when she was being extremely rude and disrespectful first? Also, we coincidentally met other guests who were in that restaurant on our trip, who also agreed that she was unnecessarily aggressive. Try to consider both sides of the story next time :)
One of the old waitresses was extremely rude and disrespectful upon encounter. We were waiting for our table and she approached us with a dirty look shouting at us to sit anywhere. She threw menus at our table and served customers who came after us first. She was friendly with other customers and as soon as she came back to our table, her face would drop. She gave us a dirty look again and just shouted “WHAT DRESSING DO YOU WANT WITH THE SALAD.” She proceeded to ask for our IDs, and when we told her we were not drinking, she yelled, “WELL YOU STILL NEED TO SHOW THEM RIGHT?!” We felt very uncomfortable and left the restaurant. Never coming back. Hope that lady gets fired. To be more specific, this was the lady who worked on June 19th at lunchtime. It looks like other customers have experienced a similar situation, it must be with...
