I went into the Malton location at 2970 Drew tonite at 10:20pm to get some food. I ordered food to go, and I for a 2nd thought mentioned to the girl with scarf, who cashed me out. She passed by the kitchen and yelled it out, while walking to the storage area at the back. However after 15-20 min. wait, my food comes and sure enough, it wasn't to go. So I requested it to be wrapped to go. Everything was good till now, I wasn't mad, as they were busy. But as I was watching the girl going to the kitchen to prepare to go, on the corner I saw her hands going over my food, and putting it in the "to go containers". This is the girl who used the cash register, went to the back storage room, touches dirty stuff, then goes to the kitchen touches our food with her bare hand without washing or anything of that nature. So when she passed my food to the girl with the scarf by the cash, I told her, she just used her hands to put my food in this container, so as I say that, the girl with the scarf walks away. However the same girl who stuffed my food in the container comes to the front, and I ask her why she would do that, cause I eat that food, she denies it at first but as soon as I tell her that I saw her doing it, then she immediately tells me that she will prepare me a new one. So, she takes it to the back, tell another lady, and they put that food on the side. I absolutely didn't feel comfortable with the situation and I'd rather take my money and leave, specially the fact that I had to wait another 15-20 minutes. I am positive that they just made me wait that long but gave me the same food that they prepared earlier.
I am going to file a complain with the ministry of health about that location of Bamian Restaurant. They should audit that place, and make sure these people follow the health procedures serving us the food we put in our system. I been to other Bamian locations and this is the 1st time I've had a bad experience with this chain!
I just hope that the owner realizes that he can't have ppl who are operating at the cash and front desk, and have their hand touching million things to go back and touch our food. Likewise for ppl who are working in the back storage areas. People in kitchen should only stay there, and have a clean hand and kitchen at all times, since they're touching our food, or wear gloves!
Very disappointed, and feel disgusted by the fact that my food was touched by dirty hands!
I will never be going back to this location!
I've got it video taped...
Ā Ā Ā Read morei would have given these guys 4 or 5 stars but they pulled an act on me that i have never experienced.
I am from the United States and I came here for dinner. It was packed. Friendly environment. I ordered a few entrees including Chapli kabob, chicken kabob, barg kabob, naan etc.
Their food was great. Good flavor, consistent, mild, generous portions, although the Chapli kabob is supposed to be fried, it seemed dry, was more like a hamburger patty with afghan spices. The naan was excellent quality. Warm, fluffy, flavorful. I think they used cheap cuts of meat for the barg kabob. Barg kabob is usually soft and breaks apart like butter. This was not the typical barg I have tried on several occasions.
Heres the kicker, they did not accept my debit/credit card because they only accept canadian debit card. I had cash but in US currency. They said they would accept my US currency only if they count it as Canadian. Who does that? I would have rather went to an atm but i had already placed my order and I was pretty much forced into paying in US currency. It shows me that such a policy is greedy and unethical. I rather them cancel the order. Charging someone an extra $7 so you can make an extra profit is baffling. Shame on you for having such a policy.
Some might agree with my mentality about this and i respect that. I just think most business with such a high rating should accept visa/mastercard debit or credit cards and they might have to make rare accommodations for someone that has US currency but to have a policy that counts USD as CAD is simply unethical and unheard of.
I will give this place another shot because I did enjoy the food and i'll be sure to bring CAD with...

I had (initially) accidentally had put 1star as I thought it was the Dixie location (see my reviews).
my review below is not Meant to be for this location.
This location has always been one of my favourite Bamiyan location and I wish the Dixie location was more like them to be honest.
As they are all family owners, I believe that more locations need to hear about the Dixie location and how they interact with their customers during Covid-19 pandemic.
My 1-star review will stand until the Dixie location situation is rectified.
Dixie Location Review:
We went to Bamiyan around 7pm and only one employee was adhering to wearing a mask. They had about 6 employees working in there and no one was properly socially distancing themselves. One of the ācashiersā that was in charge of giving out the food has their face mask hanging under their chin and one wore it after we pointed it out but it was still under their nose.
I asked the employee that was handing out the food as to why the employees at the back (3 of them at least) was openly taking to each other and not wearing any face masks, she rudely said that they donāt have to.
They also got my order wrong (with the worst excuse for the amount of raisons and carrot topping ever) but thatās not my main concern, them endangering everyoneās life is.
Stay away from this...
