Alert. Same Bakery as Scarborough location but worse. We have been getting cookies from Basir Azizi for the past 8-9 years and it is has been such a disappointing experience for the past 1 year. I went it yesterday and got a big tray of cookies hoping that it will turn out well this time but to my disappointment the quality of cookies has gone down and so has the shape and so has the taste. They charge an extremely high price as compared to even Italian bakeries who have perfectized their baking but it is such a big disappointment that I had to write this review. I called them today and told them that the cake they gave me appears to be several days old and quality of the cookies have gone bad. I told them that they should take it as a positive feedback and work to make it better but instead of listening to me or being respectful the lady on the phone tells me that they have perfect cookies and nothing is wrong and about the cake she tells me that the cake should be fine and doesnt know what happened? I was like what? I asked her if I would be call to lie to them about a bad product? She tells me well we have no complains. I can 100% say that people who have been cookies from Basir for the past 10 years or so definitely know that it has gone really really bad. Well, I think this is the right time for another cookie market to turn the wheels so that are finally over the Basir Azizi Bakery. Absolutely shameful for hanging up the phone on me whoever...

This used to be a fantastic bakery place with terrific people handling customers. Lately it has been a shadow of its past. I went there and asked for a box of assorted cookies, a guy named Akbar came out and told me the wrong price for the boxes and when I questioned him on the price (I have bought mix cookies multiple times before) he started getting irritated and told me he doesn't have time as there is an order for Kabul Farms next door and he didn't want to take my order. I asked him again and after much deliberation he relented. I asked him to gift wrap the box he said he can't as he doesn't have time. After arguing he told me he will charge me extra 5 dollars for it. I asked him why not the 2 dollars for boxes as displayed on the counter, he said that's the price and he doesn't have the option. Later I had to show him where the option for the ribbon amount was on his machine. Poor experience. I also had the white cookies from there and it was just flour and batter with no flavour or taste. This used to be a gem of a place but don't see it...

If I could give this bakery a 0 out of 5 I would! I had the most terrible experience with this bakery. Bought a box of cream rolls and cookies that tasted molded and stale! I was raving about this bakery to my guests from the US and when I served it to my family we all got food poisoning. Complained to the worker Faizal who kept making excuses like maybe my guests are not used to the food we have here?!? Most of my family and I who live here ate it and it sent us all to the bathroom that night! He also said it was a new worker who did this?! He refused to give me a refund and was so disrespectful! He literally threw the cash on the floor in front of me after I demanded the refund and threatened to report him to the Canadian food inspection agency. All I wanted was an apology and my money back, which is fair considering all the suffering my family and I went through. I am furious for the way I was treated and will be reporting their business' poor practices. BEWARE DO NOT EAT HERE! YOU ARE TAKING A HUGE RISK EATING DESSERTS FROM HERE! YOU'VE...

Decided last minute to go there after waiting in a parking lot and tried jam cake and some cookies. All cookies were tasty and had unique taste. Oranagw jam cake was freshly made, but was stored in fridge so had to keep at room temperature for 30 minutes to try it out. It was tasty but bit sweeter than i thought. Overall it was good experience. We enjoyed our high tea. Gentlemman at shop serving was very courteous and respectful. Would definitely recommend this unique bakery. Forgot to talk about cream rolls, i think they were the best of the lot. Fresh and very light taste.

We stopped by Basir’s while in the area looking for a sweet treat to go with our coffee. We came in just before closing and there was still a good selection of cookies and a few cakes to choose from. The inside of the bakery was well decorated and welcoming. We picked the chocolate biscuit off of the server’s recommendation as well as the strawberry jam cake and corn biscuit. The biscuits were crumbly and melt in your mouth but I found them to be too sweet for my liking. They would definitely complement a tea better than a coffee in our opinion.

Found this place on Google maps and decided to try it out since I was in the area. Well, that was a decision I don't regret making, as everything I ordered was delicious! The place is a little small and only offers takeout, as there's no seating, but it had a good variety of items, from sweet to a selection of juices and hot bread. I'd recommend if and especially loved the nut cake the most since it wasn't too sweet and tasted just right.
