I had the pleasure of having dinner at this restaurant for the first time, it was a celebration for my aunt's 70th birthday. We had approximately 50 guests.
At first the outside of the restaurant does not catch your attention because it looks like a regular house however until you walk inside you can then appreciate the beautiful ambiance of this restaurant. It is a rustic yet contemporary old vintage home that was renovated to a beautiful restaurant where you can hold any type of event from date night to bridal showers.
AMBIANCE: We were met at the entrance and greeted and directed to our reserved room which was beautifully decorated with five tables each table held 10 place settings at each setting there was a personalized menu which was pre-planned by my cousin ahead of time. He was able to connect with the restaurant and create a three course menu which included red and white wine, juices for the children and we were able to have a tab at the bar. The servers were exceptional they were always coming around filling up water asking if we needed to top up on the red or white wine and they were very friendly and very professional.
MENU: The first course was either the soup of the day which was a gorgeous spicy creamy soup or fresh garden salad. For the main course we had a choice of chicken with vegetable medley and red wine sauce, salmon with asparagus and sweet potato mash or a pesto pasta for the vegetarians. For the kids they had a choice of oven baked cheese pizza or chicken tenders with fries. For dessert there was a choice of blueberry cheesecake or raspberry sorbet. The white wine was well balanced and not too dry the red wine was a little dry and was best paired with the main course.
OTHER: We had a table set up for the birthday cake pictures and we were able to set up a speaker for music and a microphone so we can make speeches the rooms were well laid out where if we needed a little more privacy we could close the doors but if not we left them open and everyone was able to walk around and mingle with such a large group we were pretty comfortable.
CONCLUSION: Overall exceptional service, excellent atmosphere, great food. Highly recommend Culinaria for an upgrade to your average family gathering or your next baby shower, bridal shower or graduation dinner. It is truly a Hidden Gem in...

My husband and I used this venue for our wedding ceremony and reception location and were so happy with the venue, staff, food, and ambiance. Chelsea and Michelle (on-site event managers) were extremely responsive, understanding, and flexible and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and help us coordinate our day. They allowed us numerous meetings with them on site to work out the details and took notes on everything so that this was all carried forward through the many months of the planning process since we decorated ourselves and did not have a wedding/event planner or external vendors. Pricing was very reasonable especially for the quality of both the food and cocktails-- all of which got many compliments on from our guests. We had 60 people for dinner and felt it was a good amount of space, though more would be doable but we felt it could get a bit tight. There was a-la-carte service occurring at the same time in private rooms off to the side but this was kept completely separate and we did not noticed at all, nor did it impact our ability to celebrate. It was extremely convenient to complete the reception and ceremony in the same location and have cocktail hour all in one place. Additional time is possible and reasonably priced if your event goes longer than you anticipate. Dance floor is also available but we did not elect to have this option. There was ample parking on site but extra parking is also available at the neighbouring church which Culinaria has an agreement with for bigger events. Washrooms are on the lower level and is something to be aware of for accessibility since it requires stair use. Tasting menus are available and had great portions/pricing if you have committed to the venue (tasting is still available without commitment but is priced higher).
For an intimate wedding with great food/drink and great service, I highly recommend this venue. The staff can make or break an event and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff here, who clearly take pride in what they do and were so attentive and kind.
Thank you so much to Culinaria and it's amazing staff, with special thanks to Chelsea and Michelle. You helped make it a...
Read moreWe first inquired about celebrating our daughter's confirmation at Culinaria Restaurant in mid-December 2015. It replied to us indicating it had availability on the day we wanted to host the function. We were emailed a list of menu options/packages. We arranged to visit the restaurant in early Jan. 2016. It seemed like a nice & intimate place. We decided on some details & chose the Gold Pkg from their menu options. We left after feeling comfortable that we would be accommodated in their main private room on the main floor, since we predicted to have a party of 38 people. Their representative told us she would put together 1 or 2 final pkgs. with a final price to be determined, since there were a couple minor details to still firm up (e.g. hors d'oeuvres, cake-slicing fee). We did not get notified for more than a week, so we emailed the rep. She responded with the required price quotes for a couple options. A few days later, we indicated our choice to go ahead with the Beverage per Consumption option. Over the next couple days we resolved a few other details about our dessert selection & indicated to the rep. that we were ready to firm up an agreement. And that was when she responded with the news that the restaurant had booked a large party for dinner on the same day that we were negotiating for. She told us they could only do the function for us if we decided to hold it at noon or 1 pm. This would not be at all possible since the confirmation ceremony would take place at 2 pm. So we were left without any consideration & had to start our planning all over again with another dining establishment. It felt so terrible to realize that we were not even told that there was another group vying for the same room on the same day. Had we been told, we would have made a more timely effort to firm up a deal. But I doubt that it would have mattered since I think they just chose to proceed with a larger group. Culinaria did not even offer to accomodate our group in any of their other rooms. We were very disappointed as Culinaria’s representative did not apologize to us in our phone...
