Update April 2021

As promised, I have returned to check the consistency. This time I ordered online through their Google system. It was extremely convenient and efficient because Like who doesn't have a Google/Gmail account really? So kudos to that.

I wanted to try their sandwiches. But I just could not resist trying their pillowy and oven baked goodness that are the Mana'eesh. I love our Multi-Cultural city because we can all travel the Globe through our taste buds. And to experience foods from another culture is so wonderful in my opinion.

My goodness, the Mana'eesh are so good and addictive. It is like a perfect mini NY style pizza. The consistency is definitely here for taste and quality. And I promise, I will try the sandwiches on my next go around.

This a bases clearing triple into the alley in right field !!!

Give them a try and let us all know what you think. I was actually planning to try Gladiator Burger in the same mall when I happened upon this wonderful new restaurant called Manousha.

I decided to walk up to see what cuisine it specializes in. And when I saw that their specialty is Artisan Middle Eastern Flatbreads.... I was like Heck Ya !!! Who needs a burger when I can have this? I can get a burger anywhere really.

They already had me at " Middle Eastern" and " Flatbread" !!! I am a huge fan of the various types of cuisine from the Middle East. I truly respect their use of spices and the flavours and aromas that they produce. It makes for a meal to make the taste buds dance.

And I am a fan of mom & pop local businesses. They will always garner my support.

The service was extremely helpful and courteous. The location was clean and spotless. I asked which Mana'eesh ( Flatbread pizza ) should I try. And the recommendations were for :

  1. Chicken Musakhan
  2. Sujuk and Cheese

The mana'eesh are about 9" ..the size of a small personal pizza. And it is filling. The dough / crust was delightful. It is rather perfect. It is chewy and crunchy ( at the ends ). The texture is perfect for me. It reminds of a NYC and NJ pizza slice.

I found both to be spicy ( which I enjoy ), so be warned. But the flavours of the sumac, allspice , cumin and saffron are delicious. The presentation looks great and the aromas were wonderful.

I also tried the Chai Karak. And man was it ever good. You can taste the cardamon and is it the allspice? The taste reminded me of a firni in a way....maybe it is cardamon. But is it ever delicious. I will be back to try the sandwiches because they looked so good.

A++ experience...

Made an order online on their website to have my meal delivered (DELIVERED) Waited the estimated time before making any calls due to the extreme weather that there was After reaching the estimated time, I call to get an update on the order, the girl who picked up the phone said that they don’t have any delivery service at first. I mentioned that online it said that if you ordered over $100 it would be free and for my order I had to pay additional fees which I was ok with. Than asks me to check with her manager and call back She calls back and says that they don’t deliver under 100$ I told her that she isn’t aware of the restaurent policy She confirms that the order was ready and I had to pick up the order instead I could hear her in the background speaking in Arabic to a man and he asked her to disconnect the call. I insisted that it must be delivered, without even apologizing, she insisted that it must be picked up She tried to reach me couple times to notify and ask me if I was picking up the meal. I told her I will come and get my refund Even when I got to the restaurent, no one tried to apologize and she stated that she will refund me through the app which she had problem with I told her that I have no trust in their business and require the refund in Cash She refused to refund me in Cash at first but after multiple tries online, she spoke to the owner (apparently) to refund me cash. Being from out of town, completing an order according to their system They were not able to honor the simplest way to keep a customer happy She also mentioned that she wasn’t able to deliver due to the weather Which could’ve been resolved if they had the delivery option disabled or contact me after I made the order online They even sent me an updated text stating that the estimated delivery time has changed and moved slightly later I hope those that order online watch...

It was around 7 pm on a rainy day, I checked my phone to find nearby restaurants to eat at with my 3 hungry friends. I saw a restaurant with 4.5 stars named Manousha, and my friends and I decided to go to it. As I opened the door I was greeted by the multilingual employees, the warm and modern atmosphere made me feel comfortable and the cherry on top was the arabic music in the background. I could smell the aroma of all the different flavours, me and my friends were looking at the menu while in the line. We saw many different dishes, and many different sides. When it was our turn we ordered what we wanted, and took a seat at a table. My sister that once came here asked me if I like the food, but before I could answer my phone died. Luckily, the tables had super fast wireless chargers. After around 3 minutes, my phone was turned back on.

All of our dishes came at once, I ordered the Falafel Manakeesh/Pizza dish. As the name says there was Falafel, the soft chickpea paste felt heavenly on my tongue and the spices added so much flavour. The variety of toppings made it so flavourful. There was green and red cabbage, which went well with each other. The tahini sauce felt nutty, and limey.

After the Falafel manakeesh, me and my friends shared some fries. The fries were perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper, and they’re signature spicy seasoning. Overall I rate it 5 stars, definitely will be...

Our visit here to pick up some food for lunch. Not knowing what sizes they come in and how filling they would be, we ordered three mana’eeshs. Muhammara, Akkawi Cheese and 3 Cheese and Herbs. Asked for Mutabbal, but they ran out of it on a early Saturday lunch, for which I was very disappointed. They received a large order prior to me coming in and the three individuals were working very hard and frantically to finish the big orders and the walls in like me. It took them a long time to finish our order which was disappointing as well. The Muhammara as I understand it is roasted red peppers and walnuts as their base. This mana’eesh did not taste red pepper or walnuts. The flavour was more on onions than anything else. Regardless it was good. The bread was very baked and together with the topping went great. The three cheese I assumed would be loaded with cheese was well filled and kids liked it. The Akkawi was loaded with cheese much more than kids and Mrs expected and even they are cheese lovers had to scrape some cheese off as it was just too much for them. They thoroughly enjoyed it this one as well. Not sure if this was all because of the rushed preparations. However I will give them one more try.
