Honestly had the weirdest experience the last time I got food from this place. Thursday night I called to place an order for two bowls (one chicken and one kebab) over the phone for my partner and me. They got my name wrong over the phone when they called back to let me know my order was ready for pick up and I corrected the girl on the phone. I went in with a friend and there was a young female employee who was about to cash me out. She again, got my name wrong (which isn’t a big deal because everyone gets it wrong) and me and my friend casually giggled about it. Before I could explain, she said “what the hell, are you good?” with the most amount of attitude possible. Although extremely rude, I dismissed her comment and corrected her with the proper pronunciation of my name. In order to deescalate the situation, my friend even explained that that was the reason we were laughing. After that, when the girl realized we weren’t laughing at her, she seemed to calm down and we all laughed about the mistake. She seemed quite young so I’m not sure how much experience she’s had in the customer service world but I know damn well, we’re too old for all that weirdness. Although I experienced really poor customer service that night and believe management should maybe train their employees on not being so rude to their customers for absolutely no reason, that’s not the reason I chose to write this review. I’m writing because after my partner ate the chicken bowl, he started feeling instantly sick to the stomach. The next day, he woke up with severe stomach pain, sweats, fever, and diarrhea every 10 minutes aka food poisoning. I think I was fine because I had the kebab. I read another review from someone also detailing food poisoning symptoms from the chicken from just two weeks ago. Funny enough, they also said they had diarrhea every 10 mins. Clearly, their chicken is bad and not fresh here. That, or that girl did something to the food. Wouldn’t be surprised with all that hostility coming from her. I would suggest retraining staff on 1. Customer service and 2. Proper food handling. The two most important qualities a restaurant could have and also the two qualities this restaurant especially lacks based on my last visit. I don’t really get how a restaurant can get away with making multiple people sick and still run. This place needs to have a health and safety inspection done before serving anyone else. Anyways, super disappointing experience especially because the food here is actually tasty. Despite the fact, probably will never return to this location ever again. Overall bad experience. I guess come here if you’d like to be treated like shit and made sick to top it off. Would be nice if management could directly reach out to me so that I can further escalate...
Read moreFood: king chicken shawarma tasted decent, the wrap was toasted perfectly and had a perfect somewhat flaky crunch to it. It could use a more sauce, they didn't bother asking me what sauce I wanted, just what vegetables and that was it. Also even though the king is 12 inches, it was the skinniest shawarma I have seen. It looked like a noodle, needs more filling. For $15 bucks id rather get a sub that would fill me better. I'd need 2 king chicken shawarmas to fill me up (I'm a small 150lb guy)
Service: the guy was friendly but he kept getting distracted and looking at the other customer that was talking to the other cashier and paused for a few times for long moments staring at her. The guy needs to focus on the customer he is dealing with. The lady wasn't even upset or anything.
Atmosphere: tables and seats are nice. I sat at the far end near the washroom and the music from the tv was obnoxiously loud and blaring in my ears. I had to switch to the table at the front doors and even then the music is too loud from the tv it's disturbing my conversation with my friend.
TLDR: shawarma lacking in filling, skinniest I've seen but still somewhat tasty with a good toasting on the wrap. Fix the above feedback and you got yourselves a...
Read moreQuality keeps getting worse and it won’t stop. My family used to love this shawarma place when we first started going here about a year ago and we always order a platter every weekend. In the beginning the platters were amazing; huge portions, great presentation, not shy on the extra sauces, included veggies, and it was wonderful. However, over the past year quality has gotten exponentially worse. It all started when they changed their container from a nice round platter box to a cardboard box. Then they cheaped out on the branded tape to just regular tape, then they removed the vegetables included in the platter, then the quality of the napkins was reduced, and worst of all, the portions got incredibly smaller all while they simultaneously increased the price. I put up with most of these issues since I still enjoyed the food, however, after my family and I ate their even smaller proportioned tortilla wrapped shawarmas today, I’ve decided it’s my last time going here. It doesn’t even taste like a shawarma anymore and not to mention they increased the price AGAIN. Very disappointed to see a 5 star restaurant degrade its quality all within a years time. Hopefully they realize the mistakes they’ve made and stop cheaping out...
