Starting the long weekend with a delicious lunch at Momiji Japanese Restaurant. It was my first time dining here, and the recommendation came from my father-in-law. The restaurant is small, cozy, and welcoming, with excellent customer service—attentive and warm throughout our visit. Here’s what we ordered: 🍣 Appetizers - Aburi Sushi – Chef’s assorted torched sushi - Salmon Sashimi – 3 pieces - Botan Ebi – Sweet shrimp - Chicken Karaage – Japanese-style fried chicken 🍱 Main Course - Sushi Sashimi Moriwase – A chef’s selection of 8 pieces of premium assorted sushi and 10 pieces of premium assorted sashimi, served with 3 pieces of shrimp tempura and 5 pieces of vegetable tempura. Every dish was delicious, with impressive quality and freshness. I was genuinely impressed. The Sushi Sashimi Moriwase was the standout—beautifully presented, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. I think I’ve just discovered another favorite Japanese restaurant in Mississauga, alongside Tomo Sushi. I’ll definitely be coming back—and next time, I’m trying the sushi boat!

I went to Momiji for lunch with my husband and it was great. First of all, service was amazing. Victor was quick to get our orders and served us drinks and miso soup while we waited. Food also came out in a very timely manner. We ordered the blue fin belly tuna sashimi and it tasted heavenly. Just the right balance between fatty and lean. We’ve had blue fin belly tuna before at other restaurants and the one at this restaurant is clearly superior. Highly recommend. We also ordered sushi combo. It comes with some sushi, sashimi, and tempura. THE TEMPURA was the highlight of the meal. Light, crispy, and not oily at all. All of the tempuras were amazing, but my favourite was the sweet potato tempura. It has the perfect blend of crispy, sweetness, and bite to it. Our last order was the Japan roll. The roll has a nice balance between rice and filling. It was a little spicy for me, but my husband loved it. TLDR - 10/10 would recommend. Amazing service and food.

I had a wonderful experience here. The food is so fresh and very delicious. The taste is very authentic and makes you feel like you are in Japan. I love the plating and the colorful look of the presentation of the dishes. Not to mention, the service is very nice and the owner is a very kind and welcoming person. The atmosphere is cosy and again makes you feel like you’re in Japan. I ordered the Love Boat and Tempura Odon with seafood. It was spectacular! Only thing I didn’t like was how this restaurant is very expensive. I wish I can come back weekly haha. My suggestion is to add pictures on the menu because it is hard to tell what I am ordering as I am not 100% familiar with everything and it would be nice to try more of your delicious food! I am happy to found this place and grateful it is nearby.

First time coming here (Tuesday, Mar 18th) and I must say that I was extremely impressed. Even though I was taking out, the decor seemed moody and have a very relaxed feel to it. The few people who where in there seemed to be enjoying themselves as well.

As soon as I walked in I was promptly greeted by the hostess and she was very warming and eager to help with explaining the basics, a nice change around here. When I looked at the menu I will admit that the first thing I noticed is that the price was higher than I'm accustomed too, but once seeing the portions and the quality of the product I now know why. The actual size of the maki rolls were bigger than expected and the number of pieces were also more than enough. Everything was fresh and extremely delicious! I will definitely recommend this place and I will be going back.

I had a suspicion that Sushi would only ever get 'so good' in Ontario because the quality of our fish is sub-par seeing as we are far from the ocean.

Momiji is a nice looking restaurant with very attendant staff that seems to have mastered the art of being nearby when you need them without being in your face the entire meal. The sushi chefs took great care in their preparation of Sushi and the pieces were neatly made and looked good.

Taste, wise, the ingredients were the same as the AYCE choices in the area and tasted about the same. The cost of my meal ended up being around $30, which is easily the price of an AYCE, but I only got a few rolls for that price.

I probably won't be back simply because it isn't cheap enough to pig out on (which is fine, Sushi shouldn't be treated that way), but their sushi isn't good enough that I think they stand out.

It's a nice restaurant. If you don't mind paying a la carte I'm sure you will be fine with a meal there. There certainly isn't anything...
