I went to Sushi In Sushi based on the recommendations of Google+. From the outside the place looks like a dive, and I would probably kept on driving, but the reviews were good so I went inside and I'm glad I did. The interior looked like a Japanese restaurant with a small sushi bar. I went on a Tuesday evening so the place was not crowded with only a couple of tables occupied. I took a seat at a table and was quickly brought a menu. I ordered the sashimi dinner ($15) with miso soup and salad, and the daily special which was a black dragon roll ($10). This first thing to arrive was a bowl of ediname and another bowl of some bread like pastry similar to naan. I didn't order these so I was pleasantly surprised. Next were the miso soup and salad. These were good but not exceptional. Next was the black dragon roll which was huge. The roll was sliced into eight pieces and I had difficulty cramming each piece into my mouth. Lastly the sashimi arrived. I was astounded by the number and sizes of the pieces. I travel extensively on business and have eaten sushi all around the world including several trips to Tokyo. These are the largest portions I have ever encountered and the quality is exceptionally good. A previous poster stated that Sushi In Sushi is the best sushi restaurant in Mississauga. I will go further and state that it is the best sushi restaurant I have encountered in the entire world, and I've eaten at hundreds. Ok I admit it, there was a little family run sushi bar in Tokyo that was better, but I spent over a hundred dollars on that meal just for myself. If you want value for money go to Sushi In Sushi. My only regret is that I won't be traveling back to Toronto...
Read moreThis restaurant is not accommodating for people with food allergies, not only because they do not have options on their menu, but also because they clearly dont particularly care to be helpful. I advised both the manager and waitress of my allergy several times and was ignored and presented with food containing elements that I advised that I was allergic to. They then admitted that they knew the food contained said allergens. I acknowledge that everyone can make mistakes, however, when the mistake was pointed out to them, their reaction was to deny any responsibility and caution me that should this happen again that I would be charged extra! The entire staff was sitting down to their own meal and unavailable to even speak to for a lengthy duration and we had to wait to even raise our concerns. They still charged us the full amount for my meal with no apology whatsoever. When we suggested that it might be a good idea to have allergy free options, the manager suggested that we should bring our own food to supplement theirs. She merely shrugged her shoulders at our suggestions. Needless to say, we will never return to this poor excuse for a restaurant, which is a shame because the food is actually otherwise pretty good....

Odd location: just off Erin Mills Pkwy behind the 7-Eleven gas station and situated above a flight of concrete stairs (not exactly accessible) Caters to a large amount of local takeout orders (many patrons spotted taking sushi orders to go) Staff consisted of one sushi chef, one member of waitstaff, and potentially more inside the kitchen; sufficient enough for a quiet weekday evening The restaurant has a "Daily Special" roll that changes based on the day of the week Menu is expansive and includes All-Day Lunch/Dinner selections
Pro(s): Thick cuts of sashimi Great ratio of rice to fillings in California rolls; also contained very plump pieces of avocado Black Dragon Roll boasted a generous amount of unagi and was not slathered excessively in sauce Service was prompt and efficient; attentive and friendly Accepts credit (NOT cash-only, which is always appreciated) Private parking lot capable of holding at least twenty vehicles
Con(s): Tobiko on California rolls were shrunken and quite bland Akami slice was quite stiff Black Dragon Roll was on the...
