My relationship with this teriyaki spot goes way back, This place has been a comforting constant in my life since this plaza was first taking shape around 2004. I've always loved the personal touch of their sauce station, allowing me to tailor each bite to my exact liking. The original family operators poured their heart and soul into this business, and it showed. The griddle was a mirror, the dining room a sanctuary of calm, and the consistent kindness of the staff made every visit feel like coming home.
When the new franchisee took over, I felt a pang of loss for the familiar faces and the charm of the original. The changes were subtle but noticeable—a new layout, a slightly different menu, and, for a time, a thrilling addition of fresh chilies that added a perfect fiery kick. But with these changes came a rocky period. I noticed the once-pristine griddle was often messy, the rice was unpredictable—sometimes perfectly tender, other times disappointingly firm—and the food seemed to lack the careful touch I had grown to appreciate. My own meticulous nature was a bit rattled by the decline in upkeep.
Recently, I decided to give it another try, and I was genuinely hopeful. The griddle was once again gleaming, and the dining room was spotless. The staff seemed to work with a renewed sense of purpose. I ordered my usual chicken teriyaki, though I was a bit sad to find that the fresh chilies were no longer an option. The meal itself was good; the meat and vegetables were perfectly cooked, though the rice was a touch underdone. It wasn't the flawless experience of the past, but it was a solid, enjoyable meal.
My hope for this place is that as a franchise, they find the consistency that made the original so special. It's clear they are capable of delivering a great meal and a clean environment. It would be wonderful to see that same level of care and passion become the...
Read more“Under New Management” the sign reads as we walked in. I am an avid customer of this restaurant chain and eat Teriyaki Experience more often than other possible choices. Total experience was between a 2 and a 3 but Unfortunately in the end I have to give 2 stars and here’s why: Although the food was good, the portion was less to be desired. Short on everything especially the rice and the chicken. I mean, we are talking about rice here, one of the cheapest food source on earth. Although chicken was half of what I usually get (5 tiny pieces). At the least more rice could have been added to come up to the brim of the dish and have the appearance of a full portion. (see photos)
We had to choose a table of empty tables that was actually clean. (see pictures)
Service- although good in front of the customer, these employees hide in the back doing who who knows what while in the 30 mins we were here, at no time did one of the two employees come out to the sitting area and clean tables or anything. They only come out when the door chime rang cooked food in 5 mins then went right back to a disappearing act in the back.(fail) Windows were discussing as well (see closeup picture)
Washrooms were clean and is the only help to get this review to a 2. BUT we had to ask for Toilet paper !!
It’s a shame because this food and chain is usually pretty good. The only time I come back to this particular location is if it drastically improves
Sorry.. but this is my opinion in the first impression this...
Read moreVery bad customer service. The lady could not follow simple instructions and added teriyaki sauce to the whole order when I just wanted it in one dish.
My wife is very picky and she would not eat her food with the sauce all over the food.
I went back in to ask her to “Please make one without the sauce. She then just opens the box and puts dumps the food back into the burner.
(COVID time) maybe that wasnt the smartest choice and extremely unsanitary.
she then goes back in fourth yelling in her accent and could not accept the food being sent back to the kitchen.
It was not a good “teriyaki experience” SMH
Now, regarding the food, Faaackkk! just covered in teriyaki sauce like soup, I did not order teriyaki soup.
This locations really needs to take the proper procedures when it comes to taking orders.
Almost every location ask you what sauce you like and how much you want of it.
Someone needs to find out whats being done and needs to teach them about customer service
This place has failed and we will not be coming back to...
