A terrible, disappointing and embarrassing experience as a Goan. Wondering how long they’ve been around and will possibly stay around. Really can’t see them surviving the way they presented.
A friend pleasantly surprised me and others from the UK, Netherlands and Portugal, to experience my own culture and food. We were all excited, me most of all. I had never been or heard of this place before. We were encouraged by the owner’s sons to get the Meal Deals, especially the Eat All You Can.
My Friends got the Traditional Fish Curry/Fried Fish Deal, approx $13-15. The Curry had a piece of Mackerel 2”x2” head piece, all mouth, boney and endless fine bones, and literally 2 tastes of fish (not bites or morsels). Their piece of fried fish was approx 3”x2”, tail and side fins included, again 2 tastes of flesh. We were making jokes about needing a magnifying glass to see our food.
One friend and me got the Eat All You Can Meal, $19.99 I believe. Well, it was anything but. We couldn’t get another serving of French Beans (more potato than beans), or Fried Fish (same size as above). I knew not to order the Fish Curry as I saw what the others got and it was reported as tasteless. The Mutton Curry smelled really bad. I basically could get more of Daal, Chapati, Rice, Puri. The friend was diabetic and these were things she couldn’t eat. Plenty of what we were ordering, simply never arrived, particularly for my friend. she did not get her Fried Fish at all. Dessert for all was definitely out of boxes and packages, like the Caramel Custard.
I confirmed before ordering the Fresh Fried Bombay Duck, approx 4 pcs for $15 approx. Wanted my friends to taste it. I was stunned and shocked at what I got. The plate was osparsely scattered with some crumbs. I asked what that was and was told 1pc Bombay Duck broken up into bits. It surely wasn’t one filet (I should have got the number of filets stated) and why broken up??? In a restaurant??? I practically exploded at this point. I asked if they were kidding and if they would pay the price for that, if they were eating out? I do know what this dish is supposed to be. Fortunately they did not charge it to my bill.
Tea we ordered came out of a packet, powder milk and sugar included. Is it really so hard to have some tea bags and milk, for a restaurant? Particularly at the prices being charged per cup? $2.50 if I correctly recall. Friend who asked for black coffee, got exactly what we did, out of a package mix, powder milk and sugar included. It was as if our waiter (and owner’s son) could not keep up or understand what we were saying and had no system to take orders for a group (a writing pad and pencil would have helped to keep things straight).
All in all, for that kind of money, we would have had a substantial whole, boneless, fish filet meal at some other establishment with real tea, coffee...

To celebrate my wife's birthday, I made an impromptu decision to have lunch at a restaurant in Mississauga, and it turned out to be the best culinary choice I've made in a long time. Don't let the unassuming exterior of this place fool you; it doesn't do justice to the treasure that lies within.
For our meal, I ordered the kingfish, while my wife chose the pomfret. We also added a side of sol curry to round off our meal, which was so good that we ended up re-ordering towards the end of our meal because we just couldn’t be satisfied with one glass. The fish was cooked to perfection, fried crispy yet tender, and the curry was simply finger-licking good. The leafy vegetable was superb. I regret not discovering this place earlier, as I've missed out on this culinary delight for four years.
The chapati was another highlight—fluffy, made from whole wheat, and topped with ghee, enhancing both its taste and authenticity. The rice and fish curry were equally delicious, making me reminisce about memories from Goa. The restaurant's dining space is clean, though the ambiance might not be the most luxurious. However, this is far from a deal-breaker considering the quality of the food.
I highly recommend this restaurant to every Marathi, Konkani, and Goan person in the GTA and its vicinity. On our way out, I inquired with our server about the restaurant's history and was surprised to learn they have been open for over six years. While they specialize in party catering, they cater to individual diners with equal care.
I foresee myself visiting this hidden gem every week, if not daily. It's a place that has truly captivated me with its exceptional food and heartfelt service.

Read moreI recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. While the ambiance and decor of the restaurant were not so much, but the wait time for the food was unacceptably long. Was asked to wait 30 minutes for the order to be ready. (While no other customers at the restaurant)
To make matters worse, when I spoke to the manager about the delay, he was incredibly rude and had an extremely unpleasant attitude. Instead of apologizing for the delay or offering any explanation, he dismissed my concerns and made it clear that he didn't care about our experience.
Overall, I would not recommend this place due to the excessively long wait times and the terrible attitude of the manager. It's a shame, because the restaurant has a lot of potential, but the poor service and manager’s attitude completely ruined...
