I am writing to express my concern regarding a disappointing experience I had while picking up an online order from your Mississauga, Dundas location.

I had placed my order in advance for a 5:30 PM pickup. I arrived at the location around 5:40 PM, expecting a quick collection of my already-prepared meal. However, when I approached the counter, I was told by a staff member to join the general line—despite clearly stating that I was there for a pickup order. At that time, there were approximately 20 people in line waiting to place new orders, which made this request illogical and inconvenient for someone collecting an online ordered meal.

To avoid losing my place in line, I asked my wife—who was waiting in the car—to speak with someone at the counter on my behalf. She explained the situation to another staff member, who immediately confirmed that our order was ready and handed it over without issue.

This inconsistency in service is concerning. If the food was already prepared and available, why was I asked to join a line meant for customers placing new orders? It suggests a lack of proper staff training and clarity in handling pickup orders.

I strongly recommend that Watan Kabob implement a clearly marked, separate line or designated area for online pickups to ensure efficiency and a better customer experience. This simple adjustment would greatly improve the service and prevent similar frustrations...

This is one of my favourite restaurants. The food here is just amazing, great value for money, as you don't feel cheated.

Food: They give you more than enough meat, and grains for whatever you order. Their specialty drinks are also delicious. The food is prepared quite fast whilst still being cooked properly, given how busy it is. The sauces also pair up amazingly with their food. The bread is so warm, super soft and very fluffy, I love it. Thankfully their beef dishes don't disappoint, because a lot of restaurants cannot seem to cook beef properly or just use bad meat. Their dishes also have actual flavours, unlike most other Afghani restaurants that have severely disappointed me.

Service: Extremely fast working, not much else service besides that. But no complaints other than they take a while to clean tables, so sometimes so you have to look for an employee to ask them to clean the table before you sit.

Atmosphere: Plenty of seating, I've never had an issue finding a place to sit regardless how many people I'm eating with or what day or time I come. The atmosphere is also quite nice fitting for this type of restaurant.

TLDR Food: 9.5/10 Just delicious and great value for money. Service: 7/10 They are fast, but there's not much service once you tell them your order. So I can't give a better rating. Atmosphere: 9/10 Plenty of seating, nice...

I recently dined at Watan Kabob and it unfortunately, fell short of my expectations. Compared to other Afghan establishments I've tried, the overall experience was underwhelming. The food lacked the vibrant flavors and spices that are typically associated with Afghan cuisine. The meat dishes, in particular, were not as juicy or flavorful as I had hoped. imbalance in the ratio of rice to meat in the dishes. There was an excessive amount of rice compared to the quantity of meat served. This resulted in a lack of meaty flavor and made the overall dish feel unbalanced. It was disappointing to receive such a disproportionate portion, as it diminished the enjoyment of the meal.

On a positive note, the ambience of the restaurant was pleasant and inviting. The atmosphere provided a comfortable setting for dining and enjoying a meal. Additionally, I found the yoghurt dessert to be a highlight of the experience, as it was flavorful and satisfying.

However, considering the overall mediocrity of the food and the lackluster quality of the meat dishes, I would not readily recommend this specific Afghan restaurant. If you're seeking an authentic and flavorful Afghan dining experience, there are likely other establishments in the area that may better meet your...

Food Quality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Price/Value: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have been going to Watan Kabob at a different location of years and wanted to give this one a try. The ambiance in my opinion is MUCH better than the Matheson location as it's much more modern and has ample seating areas. The menu as far as I can remember is the same and provides a variety of options for every kind of eater but I will say that I haven't been to a Watan Kabob since before the pandemic and was shocked to see that the price of everything has drastically increased by $2-4! We ended up ordering: 1.) Chaplee Kabob Dinner - $14.99 (used to be $9.99 pre Covid-19). 2.) Sultani Kabob Dinner - $18.99 (not sure how much this used to be). The food was prepared rather quickly, within 7-10 minutes and we were able to grab a jug of water and 2 cups for our table. The food itself was plentiful, delicious, and very flavourful however I was annoyed that some of my rice was room temperature and even cold. The staff were great and allowed us to get as much extra white sauce as we needed. Overall I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try and specifically this location despite the drastic increase in price of their food.
