India King — Restaurant in Moncton

I visited this restaurant last month (my second time here!) and finally got around to writing about it. Both visits left me with great impressions, and this time I got to try a variety of dishes, so here’s a quick breakdown:

Ambiance: The space is filled with Indian decor, giving it a vibrant and festive feel. What really stood out was the beautiful tree decor adorned with so many flowers, it adds such a unique and warm touch to the setting. The whole vibe is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends.

Food: *Papadi Chaat = The portion was generous, honestly great for three adults. We were just two and still managed to enjoy every bite. The flavors were spot on, and I especially loved the soft boiled potatoes. *Indian King Special Amritsar Kulcha = Three huge pieces, beautifully layered with ghee. The flavor was rich and satisfying. I just wish the curry quantity was a little more to match the size of the kulchas. A few extra sliced onions would’ve been the cherry on top 😅. *Chole Bhature = I’m going to repeat myself here 😅, two big bhature, perfectly puffed (popping them is half the fun!). The curry and onion portions here were just right. *Veg Biryani = I believe this was the dish (I forgot the exact name 😅). It was well-cooked and fragrant, but compared to the other standout dishes, it didn’t quite hit the same note for me. Still good, just not my favorite of the day. *Carrot Halwa = By this time I was way too full, so I got it packed to go. Rich, classic flavor. If you know, you know.

All in all, it was another great visit. There’s clearly a lot of heart in the food, and while there were a couple of small things I’d tweak, the overall experience was warm and satisfying. I’ll definitely be back again!

We were here late night on 8 june 2025 I forget to complain about this at that time we liked this place but after that experience I don’t think we going to come again because we had awful experience with the server girls working at night. We reached here at almost half hour ago before they close timing on maps and we got server girl who refused us to dine us saying “we are close” and then ordered food for take out but after 5 minutes one family came they let them dine in and those were group of 5 people. Problem is first they said they are closed before the actual closing time and who came after us are sitting there and ordering. Other girl told them to dine in and same girl who told us standing near us and watching after that as well they didn’t said us to sit for dine in. I requested her can we sit and eat our food still she said no we are closed other girl didn’t know about that if that’s the case why she didn’t asked the other family to leave because they are closed for dine in. We insisted to eat there because we are driving from Halifax to saint john and want to rest here for few minutes until we finish our food. After that, when we asked them multiple time then they said ok you guys can sit and wait for your take out order very rudely with rude faces and after that I asked them multiple times for glass of water they ignored us after several times of asking I went to their counter that can I get water then we got a glass of water. We are not there to eat for free we are paying for our food. Other family is enjoying their food and we came before them facing this stupid behaviour from them. I want the owner or manager to look into this so that this will not happen with anyone we are feeling we are beggars there begging them for food and water for which we are paying it’s the night time I am not able to do anything otherwise I want to show that girls how to work in restaurants as server I also works in food industry but never treated...

We've been to this place for 7-8 times. Overall experience is good but service and food quality is diminishing/deteriorating. I had Veg. Biryani 4 times and taste is some what different every time. Last time we complained about Biryani for Sour taste and given reason because of Chinese sauce it feels such a way. Biryani was replaced and taste is not the same as previous visits. Not sure Biryani should have Chinese sauce in it?? Feedback given at/to Reception counter/owner is taken badly and person behaves silent/rude and don’t even respond properly. Consistency in taste is needed in quite few products like Chana (in thali once spicy and once not), Veg, Biryani (inconsistent taste), Badami Kheer (different taste two times), Veg. Dosa(stuffing too less probably small two spoons). Menu should not have something which you don’t serve Or should be advised earlier before taking order. If you are bringing someone over for dinner it feels pretty bad when we are coming over for specific things. Order was taken but we were advised approx. 5-10 mins later that specific items (multiple) were not available. Staff needs to be trained as well because mistake found in billing twice plus we were asked at reception for like did you order this ? Staff was instructed twice to increase spiciness in food but failed to do so when food was served, taste was still good but not spicy at all mild. We were asked about how was the food we told about incident about spiciness and at reception she did advise spiciness to Kitchen. After giving feedback it felt that owner/front reception didn’t appreciate the feedback we gave.
