Au Vieux Duluth - Montréal - Saint-Laurent — Restaurant in Montreal

We went there 2 weeks ago during the week, the Marcel Laurin Vieux Duluth restaurant. Service was good, no complaint there, but the food this time was not good as before. They must have changed the cook or people in the kitchen for sure, or they are saving on the ingredients! We have been going there for years, and never complained. 2 weeks ago we ordered as entrée the Escargots à la bourguignonne in garlic sauce, it was bland, no salt at all, hardly any garlic, actually 1 tiny piece of garlic you can hardly see within the butter, frankly it was not edible! We always ordered that before so many times but 2 weeks ago, it was not good and we will never order it again. We did not complain to the waiter because they should serve good food without us complaining! Then we ordered the Souvlaki plate and another plate of fish, filet doré. Both plates were OK, but the salad again was not good, very bland, dry and hardly any salad dressing on both plates’ salads, almost like they just added water to the salad instead of dressing! Vieux Duluth can charge a bit more on their food so to keep the good standard but to skimp on salad dressing, and garlic, the main ingredients on the plates is no good. The owner of the Marcel Laurin Vieux Duluth should check on the food served every now and then like a quality control. We did not order dessert that day, we were not happy to stay...

TERRIBLE

We went because we received gift certificates to the restaurant. There was two people waiting in front, an older man and a younger woman. The older man, cut the young women while she was talking with me then told me to wait in the side because the rest of my party was not present yet.

I assumed it's their policy so I waited, as I waited he keep bashing into me every time he saw his friends without saying sorry.

When my party did arrive he was busy talking to another women and ignored us despite the fact that a line had formed behind us. The young women who was co hosting with him tried to catch his attention because she noticed we were getting restless, even patting his shoulder gently to advise him about the line. But he even ignored her!?! "What's the point of having someone next to you if you don't even give her the chance to do anything?"

When we finally got a place to sit, the rest of the evening was fine, the food was ok, but again when we leaving he started arguing with a client to close the door. ( where are they suppose to stand if you keep bashing into people because you are not looking where you are going? And you tell them to stand in random areas) Not only did he belittle his clients but he belittle his staff too! I do not think that is right ! In any case I don't think we will be...

I came for dinner with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Took for ever for the waiter to come for bread and water .and I asked for 2 ice buckets he brought one after we were already done the bottle of wine . The food wasn't hot at all , the portion of salmon my boyfriend got was small and dry .my chicken brochette was brunt. Rice was hard. The bus lady was in a hurry to tell us to leave .as they close at 10 .it was about 10:20 with 2 other people in the restaurant enjoying them selves .and she came to tell us to take what we wanted what was left in alcohol as they were closing there doors and we need to leave . I have been to many restaurants that close and it's bring ur own booze and never felt like this .being rushed out , watched and starrred and she even waited near the bathroom while I was in there till i was done .Bad experience this waiter and bus lady she learn respect and u wait till the people are gone to clean up not while they are sitting there. Then he wanted a 17$ tip for what ..he got 12 he was lucky he got that .and for that bus lady she should be fired .I will not return to this restaurant again I will find another au...
