I just came back from Taiwan and Im so in love with the food there that i struggle to have the desire to eat anything else but food from there.
I ordered there signature Hanoi Banh Mi and Matcha Milk tea.
The Banh Mi itself is fine, tho the bread isn't has crunchy as the one you can have in Taiwan. The taste tho is very similar and reminescent of what I had over there. Its good. Could be better but good.
The Matcha milk tea tho is atrocious and undrinkable... even after adding 2 spoons of sugar, its not sweet at all. The black pearls were warm mixed with im a cold drink which adds to the weird feeling of it. (Tho, one time I had warm pearls after ordering from a 7-eleven and it was still yummy) The drink wasnt even liquid... but more like a granular goo.. almost as if you'd have mixed flour in water and tried to drink it.. and the matcha powder stays stuck in your mouth and dehydrates you... awful feeling and I cant bring myself to drink more then the 3 sips I already had..
Ive made myself homemade matcha latte in the past and it is not supposed to feel like drinking from a swamp...
Read moreI came here with high expectations due to the reviews. I have to admit, it is very disappointing. First of all, they need to be more careful with hygiene. They wore gloves to make banh mi and answer to Uber orders with the gloves on. The lady wore the gloves and then immediately tied her hair with them on before starting to make the banh mi. They even keep the gloves on while making customers pay. There is a serious lack of knowledge of hygiene and food safety. The baguette was good. Crunchy outside and soft in the inside. The pâté had a strong taste of metallic/ iron. The mayo that they used was disappointed. It is more like a Western mayo than the vietnamese, which is supposed to be a yellow ish color and buttery flavor. The meats were ok. 9$ for a banh mi, I find it ok for nowadays Price but just not worth with the...
Read moreEmployees who were making my food were breaking so many rules sanitation wise. The cook was using the restos phone while making sandwiches, writes down orders with a sharpie, then continues to make sandwiches without washing his hands or changing his gloves... He even had his hand in his armpit at one point. Then another worker joins him (an older lady) for sandwich prep and she uses her personal cell phone while prepping sandwiches. Same thing, doesn't wash her hands or change gloves...
Last time I'll be eating here. Also, their meat portions are laughable. The first time I ate there it seems they forgot to put meat 🤦, this time I get one and a half slices of...
