We were a party of 4 and were excited about experiencing this new restaurant in our neighborhood. Service was slow and unorganized but we won’t hold that against them as it was their first full opening day. We really want this restaurant to succeed as our community lacks good restaurants. Our family does have extensive experience in the restaurant industry, specifically steak restaurants so we would like to give you tips. The food was actually quite good. Steak was prepared very well. Pasta was al dente as it should be but the rapini was overcooked. Side dishes (mushrooms) lacked flavour. Cesar salad was good. Sea bass was good. Our bottle of red wine was not our first choice as some of the wines on the menu were not available. I had white wine by the glass. I asked for a dry white. Normally upper end restaurants will bring the bottle to the table and pour a small taster for the customer to see if they like it. I was brought a poured glass. It was good, I ordered a second glass but the quantity was less than the first glass…same price..
Now here’s what needs to be improved. The staff needs to be educated on what is being served. You’re calling yourself a “steakhouse “ and yet the waiter had no idea what grade steak they had. The steaks are not cheap so it better be high grade. Waiters should be trained on grade of steak, where it comes from, etc….know your product. Daily meetings should be had with the staff to go over any changes to the menu (out of stock items, daily specials etc) Maybe an investment in a one time consultation with a qualified sommelier to be sure the wine list can be paired properly with the menu. And they don’t have to all be extremely expensive wines…some good mid range would work well also. And last but not least, the owner should greet his customers! Get out there …welcome us when we walk in ….introduce yourself…ask if everything was good once we are done…be constantly attentive to every table…..don’t sit with your friends and ignore the people who are going to make you or break you!! This is a neighborhood restaurant, get to know us. Show we’re important and we will support you if the food and service is good! Oh and your servers should be bilingual! Good luck, we’ll give you another try in a...
Read moreMontreal just welcomed a bold and playful new spot, and trust me, Estiatorio Marmo is not your average café or steakhouse. By day (8 AM–3 PM), it’s a Mediterranean-inspired café serving up specialty coffee and pastries. By night (from 5 PM), it transforms into a full-on steakhouse—and I’m already planning a return visit for the dinner vibes.
I dropped by during their café hours and was immediately struck by the atmosphere. The interior feels like a chic hotel bar—modern, stylish, and cozy—with a splash of humor thanks to black-and-white portraits of iconic comedians on the wall. But the real surprise? South Park silhouettes on the cups and plates. Yup, Randy Marsh and Eric Cartman were my cappuccino companions, and honestly, I love it.
I went for a café freddo, which was perfectly bold, smooth, and topped with just the right amount of frothy foam. Refreshing and flavorful—it hit the spot.
To go with my coffee, I indulged in two pastries: • Almond Cake: Moist, rich, and full of nutty goodness—like a sweet Mediterranean hug. • Chocolate-Covered Cream-Filled Cake: Light, creamy, and topped with in chocolate. Imagine a fancy Euro snack cake, but better.
While I haven’t tried their evening steakhouse menu yet, the creativity and quality of their café offerings already have me curious (and hungry) for more.
Foxy Tip: Come for the coffee, stay for the vibes—and don’t forget to look closely at your plate for the fun cartoon silhouettes.

We ordered appetizers octopus, shrimp saganaki , beef tartare, and a Greek salad. One bottle of Greek red wine NEMEA . And 2 scotches . The scotch had one big ice cube . Really well done very presentable. Service was excellent, we were the only table there the whole night. Then we ordered 3 ribeye steaks 🥩 they were delicious the mash potatoes and vegetables fresh and well seasoned. Food amazing. Only the Greek salad was very disappointing 4 pieces of tomato barely any olive oil for price a rip-off. The only problem with this restaurant is that it’s very very expensive overpriced extremely expensive. The cheapest bottle of wine that night was 90$ our bill came to 790$ plus tip 900$ like I said food atmosphere amazing but the owner should check...
