Dairy Queen (Treat) — Local services in Montreal

I’ve been a regular here for years since this is the closest dairy queen to my house. Around 3 months ago i came in with a friend to order their brownie and oreo cupfection, we ordered, received our order then sat down and noticed that there was marshmallow fluff on top of it. We decided it was no big deal and went to ask them in a calm normal tone if they could remake it without the marshmallow fluff since its not halal, we cant eat it and we thought the employees might have forgotten to mention the marshmallow fluff even though my friend wears the hijab so is visibly muslim. When we went up to the male employee to ask, he was a tall black man with what looks like an eye disability or lazy eye. He claimed that the marshmallow fluff was indeed halal, when we asked to see the packaging he told us that he threw it away, then when we tried asking him to remake our order for us, he told us that the entire dairy queen menu is halal when that’s completely false, it has never been halal. Soon he got frustrated of us asking so he told us that if we want him to remake our orders which we already paid for, we would have to pay for one new cup in order for him to remake both of them. Another employee working with him during that shift was a little nicer and ended up remaking our orders. Please beware if you’re a muslim customer, the majority of montreal is full of muslims especially around this dairy queen where there are...

UPDATE Aug.12, 2018: It is 31C, it's a bright sunny Sunday, only two employees are present and the waiting line is extending out the door. One employee seems on training (or just lazy, very lazy), and her demeanor is nonchalant, visibly chewing gum, cool girl attitude, and so slooooooowww. No manager to be seen.

PREVIOUS COMMENT: This location needs some maintenance. One bathroom has been out of order for the last two (now three) years, and the lock for the other one is broken. Instead of repairing it they chose to put a sign asking people to knock...

Im just going to start by saying the staff was really unfriendly and rude specially the one who seemed to be the manager with glasses. Very overpriced 14$ for 2 ice creams and charges extra for crushed peanuts…so i atleast expect my ice cream to be as desired… I use to work here years back and the quality really isnt what it was.Came a few times since the beginning of the season same thing eachtime…they dont listen to instructions and argue when asked to redo the order properly very unfortunate used to come here for years and never had any problems….Should speak to staff to improve...
