One of my favourite places in Montreal. The menu is on the shorter side, which is, to me, a mark of quality over quantity. The dishes are select and have been perfected. If it's your first time, you must try the celery root carpaccio, any of the homemade flatbreads, and the burrata. Food takes a little longer to come out than one might be used to in "everything happens immediately America", but I really think that's because things are made as close to fresh as possible. It just gives you more time to try some of the curated natural wines they keep on hand. They have delicious house-made cocktails on the menu but they also have a full bar, so you can order any drink to your taste. Tuesdays are $1 oyster night and they are also delicious and come with a housemade red sauce and a mignotte. The owners are a lovely, down to earth, and laidback couple with extensive experience in the restaurant and bar industry. They know what's up. This is an incontournable (must go!) in Montreal, you won't regret it! My photo is of their sous-vide and then baked cornish hen. This place is Michelin star-grade eats with a community...
Read moreI came here with a friend on a whim because I never really go to the Village and saw that it was highly rated. We were very pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was! Our table wasn’t ready so we were seated at the bar (which I must say was not comfortable in heels - classic bar stools) so was eager to be seated at a table, but ordered a sizeable dirty martini and the garlic pesto flatbread to start, which was DELICIOUS and placated me. Eventually we were seated at a table by the kitchen and we ordered the house salad, celery root carpaccio and the beef tartare and everything was excellent. The salad was very good and nothing like a boring salad. I will add that the service was very slow, but the waitress was very friendly so I put it at 5 stars. We finished with the cheesecake, which they were out of in bowls but had in a takeout container and it was so good too. The bill was quite reasonable ($125 for 2 people after tax). I’m excited to go back...
Read moreThird time here. Oysters were promptly served and shucked, complemented by a couple of nice house made sauces. (Oyster prices can’t be beat on Tuesday, $1 per)
Main dishes consisted of the Keela burger and the pork.
The burger was good, served medium, but the meat seemed kind of stiff. The frites were fantastic.
That being said, the gentleman who lit the table candle and kept our glasses of water full was a delight!
Dessert was London Fog ice cream — it was good but not worth the price.
Also, and this is purely my opinion, but bread and butter should be served in bistros; it would have been nice with the oysters. (I’ve had their garlic knots prior, which were good, but I’m talking about baguette)
Service is very very good here, and the oysters are so fresh and so tasty.
Cocktails are on point, and the chocolate mouse dessert was really...
