Where to begin ... went there for the 1st time this past weekend while organising a group event...when I previously spoke to the owner the week before he suggested that I take a group menu so everyone gets their food at the same time and that the price would include tax and service... on this set menu there were 4 options and at the beginning we got a platter of waffles to be shared for $22.73. When it was time to pay the bill I noticed everyone was getting charged tax and tip, so I mentioned to the waiter my agreement and to my surprise the owner/manager never came to see me, on the contrary, sent back the waitress and told me he never agreed to that... so all of a sudden I went from paying $45 for 2 adults to $62... for breakfast...but the best part is that I took their regular menu and the 4 plates that were on the menu were normally priced at $13.73!!!!! When I wrote to the owner he answered back on the defensive side trying to explain how he did us a favor by taking our reservations (the whole time we were there, no one came in that couldn't be seated!) And that we got a good "deal" considering we got the waffles and if we were to order the waffles we would each have a bill of $27 but what he seems to not understand is that we didn't individually order a platter of waffles...4 plates were shared amongst 28 people .. so I don't understand the justification for the $9 surchage that each individual received ... some families with 2 young kids walked out of there with a bill of $100 for breakfast!
Not worth it!
To respond to the owner’s comment: Sorry to have bothered you with my group for over 2 hours. I was not advised of any seating time limit. Was also not advised of the possibility of gourmet coffee as we all had regular coffee...
Lastly, while I agree people should be mindful when posting reviews I am entitled to my opinion and this is the forum to state it. Check my review history and you will rarely see bad reviews, but unfortunately our experience was not a good one.
Wishing you all the best including a successful restaurant which is sorely...
Read moreLet me tell you about my experience at Kitchen 73 RDP, It was on a Saturday and My wife, my 3 year old and myself decided to go have Brunch/Breakfast at Kitchen 73 RDP. My wife ordered a salad on the menu, I ordered one of the breakfast plates and we ordered a grilled cheese for my 3 year old.
Waitress comes back later to tell us that they do not serve lunch on saturdays. Fine my wife orders something on the breakfast menu. Up to here we are good.
We received our food and I noticed that my 3 year olds grilled cheese was not grilled at all. The cheese was not melted at all and the bread looked like it came out of the toaster. So I asked the waitress if it was normal that the grilled cheese just looked like it was toast and cheese. The waitress said you are right, let me go see in the Kitchen. She comes back saying my manager says that this is how we make it here. We toast the bread spread butter on the inside put a few slices of cheese and serve it as is. Of course my 3 year old would not eat it, heck I wouldn't eat it either. I asked to take it back, but was told that I would be charged anyway?
All of this was ok, whatever untill the bill arrives. At this point I am not very happy, as my experience is not very good the food is at best average and all I want to do is pay and leave. I'm almost out the door when I realised that I thought the bill was pretty hefty, so I have another look and realise I was charged the Salad that supposedly is not served on weekends. I go back and confront the waitress. She realises the error and asks the manager to refund me. The manager is not capable of doing a refund so he asks the waitress to refund cash. Once again whatever.
I know they are new and I know they will make mistakes. What I don't understand was the grilled cheese. The manager didn't even come to see us to smooth out the issue or offer that it gets redone. Nothing!
Here is a little advice, when you have inexperienced staff the manager should be out with his staff to guide his staff.
Good luck...
Read moreEDIT I can’t reply to the absolutely unhinged response by the owner, so I’ll do it through an edit. The fact that you check your google reviews so frequently shows a lack of confidence in your restaurant. Replying to your client’s critiques in such a god awful manner shows that you have no idea how to run a business. Feeling like you need to prove something to me by mansplaining how you order your salmon is really strange. Shifting your focus on your food and maybe learning some respect and proper grammer would be time better spent than replying to google reviews.
I ordered a smoked salmon bagel and it was absolutely disgusting, tasted wet and very fishy. I informed my waitress about this issue and she proceeded to lecture me that she places the orders for the salmon and that it’s “top quality.” Then began insisting that it couldn’t be removed from the bill because “she knows its good quality.” I’ve never had this issue at any other restaurant.. To lecture and argue with a customer when they tell you the food you served them was bad, and insist that poor quality food still has to be paid for is horrible customer service. I took a single bite, I shouldn’t be expected to pay for something I couldn’t even eat. After going back and forth, she claims she “fought” for it to be removed from the bill. Just save yourselves the trouble and go somewhere with...
