Let’s keep it simple: you pay for food and restaurants they prepare them. If you can’t do this properly you have an issue as a restaurant. Fast forward to today. I order a sandwich for my wife. They tell me it’s the “best sandwich in town”. We’ll see. One employee charges me, and tells me to sit outside. I pay, and sit outside. Fifteen minutes pass and there is still no sandwich - a simple chicken gyro. It’s not rocket science, right? I go inside and kindly ask if my sandwich has been prepared - two employees ask me, “have you placed an order?” The employee that took my order seemed to left the restaurant after I paid and didn’t seem to come back. Maybe things were lost in translation. Maybe it’s me. Maybe it’s Monkland. Or maybe this place has terrible customer service. But at the end of the day, all I ordered was a sandwich and somehow that got screwed up in a way I find in hindsight as being downright, impressive almost? In a sea of other restaurants, consumers work hard for their money. We expect a bare minimum of service. Things are hard for people right now. Do better. I’m only giving two stars for service because the employees that realized they hadn’t made my sandwich after the fact made it quickly. It’s just a sandwich - an eight letter word for 200$ Alex. Trivia was what it felt like almost. What’s the point of paying for food when it’s this challenging? Important note in closing - I was the only customer in the entire store.

I recently visited this restaurant after seeing great reviews and photos online, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t meet expectations. I ordered the calamari with souvlaki, which cost $13 with tax(only the calamari) , but the portion size was disappointing. The calamari serving was much smaller than what I saw on their Instagram page and in other customer reviews, where portions appeared significantly larger. When I asked the staff about this, they explained that the photos online were from influencers, and those portions were larger for advertising purposes. While I understand marketing strategies, it felt misleading as a customer. I asked for a refund due to the discrepancy, but they declined, citing reasons like higher sauce costs. Overall, the portion size didn’t feel reasonable for the price, especially compared to other places in Montreal. It’s frustrating to see inconsistency between advertised and actual portions. I’d recommend avoiding the calamari if you’re considering it and saving your $13.

Bring your appetite when you visit because there is much to try at a very VERY reasonable price. We started with exquisite spanakopita featuring feta cheese imported from Greece, delicious fried zucchini and calamari accentuated beautifully by an incredible homemade sauce. The wonderful poutine with loukaniko is absolutely insane. If you only get one thing, get that (but get more than one thing - it's worth it, we promise) We finished our meal with a warm, exquisite dessert of bougatsa with the most heavenly custard. The passion and pride that goes into every detail is noticeable not only in the food but in the overall atmosphere, decor and prompt, friendly service

WORST customer service I have ever encountered in any business! The employees are extremely rude and the food was decent at best...

My review is very similar to the review that Rebecca Gagnon posted a week ago.

I ordered my food to go because I knew that I had less than 5 minutes to eat before running off to an appointment. And I knew that I would probably have to bring the rest of the food home.

For such a simple order, they took longer than expected to get my food ready. When the food was finally ready, I sat down to eat quickly. There was NOBODY in their small eating area or in the whole restaurant for that matter.

Then, out of nowhere, the brunette cashier came up to me and told me to leave. At first, I was surprised and I thought that I had misheard her. But she raised her voice and she repeated, in a very rude manner, that I had to leave right away. I asked her why, and she said ''You asked for you food to go, SO GO!!!''

I was dumbfounded by her how disrespectful and rude she was. Nonetheless, I did my best to stay calm and I explained to her that I had asked for take-out because I had an appointment soon and that I knew that I would have food left to bring because I only had a few minutes to eat. She told me that she did not care about any of it and that I had to leave right away. The cook came out like a bouncer. They seemed to have that whole part rehearsed and they seemed very used to kicking customers out!

I asked to speak to the owner and the cashier dismissed me condescendingly. This is BY FAR my worst experience ever in any business.

I have been to this restaurant 3 times over the past year. And every single time, the brunette cashier looked like I was bothering her from the moment I step inside their small restaurant.

As a successful business owner myself, I have a message for this restaurant's owner. If you care about your business and about your clientèle, you need to get better employees because they are mistreating your customers and you will lose a lot of business if you don't take action asap.

Everyone, save yourselves the hassle and go to another restaurant. This restaurant's food is not good enough to justify having your day ruined by its...

No one did anything personal to me. It was an online DD order.

That said.

Can the owner please reformulate their recipe and menu? Was this style of chicken souvlaki was suppose to be some fusion ? Or not? It was oily and stank. Something extra was put in. There was no memorable notes here. It seems it was frozen to cook or some franchise procedure process for kids who work at these places. It is like that. It does not feel that you have a dedicated personel to cooking. Just a cook book for whoever walks in to follow.

That said.

Can the owner do better and research better to what people are saying in the comments ? I know it is easy to get offended. Take a rage fit or write back what I ordered to tell me I only tried one thing. However, it just takes one time to determine if I will order once more. Get it ?

That said.

I suggest you eat at different AUTHENTIC GREEK restaurants and then go back and try yours.

Suggestions :

1- Andy's - Laval - Cure Labelle 2- Village Grec - laval - 3- Souvlaki Authentic - This franchise actually taste good 4- Nostos - Acadie, near Costco 5- Christinas - Laval 6- Souvlaki Factory - More east end

Thats enough.

Unless you are trying to be different, then please call it something else. "Greek inspired" "Authentic Greek style souvlaki with my personal fusion".

Because if you are hiring kids, they dont care for taste like a real cook or dedicated person does.

What I want = Flavour.

The bread you used was good...
