It’s a clean and modern bakery in the monkland area. I arrived in a Wednesday afternoon at 2:30pm, and lots breads were already sold out (no more cheese bread). Just read the reviews here, and realized that I should have got their breads instead of croissants and cookies. Anyways, I sampled all of their croissants and cookies, and they were nothing spectacular. The maple croissants were crafted so cute, but had no maple nor croissant butter flavour, they tasted like expensive little bread, don’t buy it. The Nutella croissants looked so refined and cute also, but the chocolate fillings were at its minimum; the butter flavour was stronger. The double chocolate cookie with sea salt was way too salty. The only thing I enjoyed the most from all I bought this time was the cranberry chocolate cookies, but I can also live without it. Over all flavourwise very disappointing. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance and kitchen/serving area’s opening concept is interesting. We will try their bread next time and hopefully it will change our impression towards this boulangerie.

We walked an hour as a goal to get to someone's recommendation. I anticipated an other good french boulangerie with too many kinds of breads about which I am underwhelmed. Excited by the line up that extended outside, I started to take a picture of a middle aged woman at work only to be told that she didn't like her picture taken. She was polite and sincere. I respected her request and returned to the line. Once indoors, baking trays, helpful staff and breads of every kind caught my attention. I had an ulterior motive, the pastries. I went overboard purchasing a blueberry poppy seed muffin, a carrot pecan muffin as well as both a lemon and coffee crisp mini cakes. All of the pastries were exceptional. The mini cakes are still unfinished as their quality deserves a consumption slice by slice along with a microwave warming. A cappuccino at a fair $3.25 was also noteworthy.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’ve been a fan of La Meunerie for 2 years, and their recent expansion only solidified my love for this place. Despite the growth, the line is still long—but don’t worry, it moves quickly, thanks to their friendly and efficient staff. The atmosphere is warm, and the pastries are absolutely worth the wait. However, I didn’t see much in terms of gluten-free options for those with allergies. If there are any, they weren’t obvious to me, so it would be great if they were more clearly labeled or expanded upon. My only other gripe is that even if you preorder, you still have to wait in line, which seems unnecessary. Management, please consider changing this—preorders should have a dedicated pick-up line! Still, the quality of their baked goods keeps me coming back. Highly recommended!

My family normally goes to this very nearly every single Saturday because of the wonderful Kamut and spelt bread. However last week we came in and order my soon to be five year Olds birthday cake and we decided on the lemon pie wit fruit on top. Long story short something went wrong with the order they forgot to write down the type of lemon pie we wanted and they put the wrong date on it. They tried to reach me by phone to correct the order but I was unable to get a hold of. When I came in with three of my children and my husband I learned they did not have NY order and dd not have any lemon pies I could order from the shelf. The gentleman trying to assist me was polite but I wanted to speak wit who I thought was either the Manger or the owner to see if anything she could do to help. The owner or Manger immediately started defending her self instead of listening she raised her voice in a loud argumentative tone in front of all the guest inside the shop which there were no less than 15. I ased her why she was taking at me in front of my kids including my birthday girl she didn't care and proceeded to yell at me. Saying I never answered the phone when they tried to call me. She offered no solutions except for me to ge out of her store because she don't have time to speak with me. She said she took this tone because of my abusive way I treated her employee.) I advised her I was never once abusive and asked the employee in question did he feel. I was abusive which he never answered. All of this happened. Infron of my husband and my three small children. Normally this store would get five stars because of tw quality of the products and the employees are usually very polite however for a owner/manager to berate a customer and raise his or her voice so loud that everyone is watching is not only unprofessional but doing it in front of the customers small children is blatant abuse and moral wrong. My kids were sated and sad after seeing the way she treated me. I will never be going back there again and do no recommendable of color, any parents with small children to go there or any one who values True customer service where sore owners take real ownership of their mistakes and do not pass blame onto their customers and make a horrible scene in front of others. I felt abused in front of my children, I felt being the only black woman in the place she singled me out ad treated me different Tha she would. Normally...

I love reading all these negative reviews.... It says a lot about our entitled society.....

Having just served overseas and in the Middle East I finally came home to Montreal for Christmas... My to do list included a baguette... I walked into the bakery yesterday and got a good doze of a long line, people salivating, and the pleasant odor of fresh bread and the Christmas spirit. Plus all the highly busy elfs behind the counter serving what I consider to be the best French banquette in Montréal. All this made me smile. ..

(Spoken from experience having worked with a French baker in France who won the best baguette two years straight)

We all need to understand the service industry is in complete turmoil. So stop your complaining... And say thank you...

We are all so blessed that we can still get a cheerful staff serving us a gift of bread and history that tastes absolutely amazing. All in a peaceful environment.

Let's all take a good look outside of Canada folks... One's constant perspective of one's life is an important dose of recalibration...

My sincere salutations and sincere thank you to each and every member of La Meunerie....

Making and serving bread is an extraordinary and honorable art and service to humans...

Mission Accomplie Merry...

Clearly, this is the best bakery in Montreal overall, for now. While not everything is perfect, it stands out above the rest. Hopefully, it will not grow too much and become too commercial. We have noticed that everything is gradually more sugary, especially the (PĂątisseries) but still overall great.

Some of the comments are funny, like when people say the bread gets moldy—well, that's because it's fresh sourdough and not full of chemicals!!! Stick with your white Pom bread at the grocery store my friends. Another good one: I visited at 2 pm, and they were out of bread... It's hard for small shops to keep up with the demand, but that's what makes their products special. If you prefer chain-style bread, which is always available, go to Premier Moisson. The final one about service: A crazy incident occurred when the student employees (who are all great) got confused during rush hour and weren't fast enough to secure the five muffins I ordered. Thankfully, my mom was able to grab them! How can this happen? Service is horrible.... Karen's out there or frustrated at 2 pm, man; you are used to bland products and Starbucks; please don't go to Meunerie—you probably...
