Had this for lunch today, and i have to say: best pupusas I have ever eaten in Montreal, no contest. I have had them at restaurants like La Carreta, and at spots like Marche David, but these were the best flavor, value, and choices. We tried the pork cheese, lorocco/cheese, and the Sofia (has everything in it). The Sofia was our favorite; the lorocco/cheese was good, but the cheese is very rich so don't overdo it! Pork/cheese was also delicious. Unlike some places, the fillings are very well seasoned here.
The prices seemed a bit higher (ex: the Sofia was 4.75 each), but when we got our portions we saw it was absolutely worth it: these were huge pupusas, and they were NOT cheap with the filling. You could very easily make a meal of 2 pupusas with curtido (the tasty cabbage slaw that comes with it) if you aren't starving, and it would probably cost 7 bucks unless you go for the most expensive varieties. They also have a number of other things, such as Salvadoran soup and several kinds of tamales.
I gave this place a 4 for atmosphere because it is a Latin grocer in a basement with a couple of tables, and I know some people prefer more from a restaurant. Personally, I love this type of neighborhood vibe! It was very clean, and the service was very nice. Food was super fresh, prepared in about 10-15 minutes, and packaged snugly so everything stayed warm on the way home.
This is the sort of neighborhood business that deserves to thrive. I will definitely be coming back to this place more as the weather...

I’ve never published a review before but I felt the need to say something: All the waiters were sick and coughing in their hands and then proceeding to handle our food. It was quite disgusting and my group and I wanted to leave the restaurant. The food was decent but not something that I would go crazy for. Doesn’t deserve the high...
