I recently ordered 50 samosas from “Our Place” after visiting several restaurants to try samosas and selecting them because of their good reputation. The initial experience was promising. During my visit, the samosas had perfectly mashed potatoes with lots of green peas and a flavorful green filling. Based on this, I went ahead and booked 50 samosas for a birthday party, even though they were $2.50 each, which is higher than others I had seen for $1. However, when the samosas arrived for the party, I was extremely disappointed. Instead of the mashed potatoes with peas, the filling was completely different. Cubed potatoes, fewer peas, and a red filling. It was nothing like what I had tried at the restaurant. To make matters worse, it was quite embarrassing to serve these to our guests, as they were clearly not the same quality samosas we had initially expected. Today I found out that the samosas I received were not from “Our Place” but from a different vendor - one I had recently posted a bad review for due to similar quality issues. It felt like I had paid 2.5 times more for the same $1 quality samosas you’d find at places like Pushap, Ram Sweet, or Krishna Sweet. All of them had cubed potatoes. We were not looking for money but for quantity and the right quality for our event. I feel completely cheated and will not be ordering from here again. Very disappointing experience. A memorable 10th birthday of my daughter. Interestingly, we ordered paneer pakoda from a different place the same day, and it was up to expectations. I’ll definitely be reviewing them for their...
Read moreWe went with high expectations but were, unfortunately, disappointed with just about everything aspect of our dining experience. The food itself was just about average. We ordered a masala dosa and a lamb masala dosa. The good part: The dosa itself which was was perfect. The not-so-good part: everything else. Both fillings were below bar and came in very limited quantity. The potato filling in particular barely had any flavour at all. The sambar was good enough but the coconut chutney was too salty. Overall, the food was just about okay, nothing memorable. As for the service, the good part: the food was served quickly enough; the bad part: there was not much of service at all apart from the food being brought to our table. I think the staff is well-intentioned, just not well-trained. No one came to check on us during the meal, our glasses were not refilled, I had mentioned I'd like to order dessert after the meal; no one came to ask if we were still interested (and we left without dessert) -- and it's not as if it was a busy night. Also, as other guests left, their dirty plates were not removed from the table. There was a point in our meal when I looked around the room and there were at least five tables around me with dirty dishes. It was disgusting. Finally, our request to turn down the music was flatly denied -- because it could only be played at 'medium' volume. To make matters worse, their music system is awful and it really hurts your ears when the restaurant is more than half empty (even on a Sat night!). It was a relief to finish our food and get out of...
Read moreVery poor service and oily foods. We waited for more than 1 hour to know they haven’t even started cooking. Update: Well there is no option to respond to the owner and hence updating. I am more than happy to elaborate the end to end service we received.
We didn’t walk in 2.29. The reservation was at 2 pm and we were seated at 2.05 pm. No one came in to take order for 15 mins - not even a water or menu card. Then when ordered, they took 25 mins (after asking) to give us the idli and sambar rice. Then there was no response for rest of the order. Around 3 pm when we checked again, they gave us the oily chili paneer without any breads. Meanwhile chili paneer became cold and when we looked at it, it was way oily (as posted in the pic). After repeated follow ups they finally replaced it with Shahi paneer (while the breads became cold).
Dear owner, I work on customer facing business and I do strive to provide a quality product and service. However you don’t seem to hear out the issues from your customers and understand the root causes. First of all you need to be apologetic of the product and service you provided. Instead you seem to justifying the product and service. I agree that there is shortage of labor - but that does not mean you could provide a bad product and worst service. 2 other customers who were seated near us were unhappy and we decided to write this review. If this type of food and service continues, more to come here and...
