In summer 2017, when sadly running out of time to visit this local bucket list spot in Montreal’s vibrant “centre-ville,” I promised myself I would need to try out the outrageously-incredible dessert they serve at the one-and-only C’Chôcolat next visit. So alas, in 2020, I paid my first visit first-thing. Despite the anxiety of having to pick from dozens and dozens of mouthwatering options on the menu, my experience was CRAZY AMAZING!!! (And just kidding, the anxiety was part of the fun :)).
—Location of the eatery is super prime, on Bishop Street near countless entertainment venues and places to see. Great to possibly pair with a steakhouse or something to give you a meal, and then choosing here for your dessert!
—Atmosphere is modern, warm, and inviting. I believe I saw a bar against the back wall, which is always nice for serving that crowd. WiFi is free.
—Laura served me, and she exhibited fantastic service! Smiling, friendly, attentive, and sympathetic when I had to figure out the super-classy “Canadian” way of paying at restaurants (when will the US start this??). The dessert I got came to me in a very reasonable amount of time.
—The C’Wow (their signature dish, as far as I know) was to-DIE-for!!! I cannot stop thinking about it. The dessert features a dark chocolate dome, underneath which is a ball of chocolate ice cream and assorted brownie bites, waffle-like bites, berries, etc. Around the sides of the dome are berries, caramel drizzles, and simply all the sweet things you could ever imagine eating for dessert. I legitimately cannot name them all. The flavors together were insane! I loved it, and am now dreaming about it until I can come back and have another!! Or maybe you can ship one to Indiana!! :)
So it really goes without saying, but my experience at C’Chôcolat was practically perfect. It was all I hoped for, plus a ton more. I am thrilled I went when I got the chance, and it is on my radar for the next trip I take to Quebec! Highly, highly...

Read moreWhen you first walk in, you are welcomed with smiles and kind staff. I ordered and was super pleased till some guy who everyone seemed to know walked in with a dog in hand. I ignored thinking he may just be picking something up. He remained there for the rest of my time at the restaurant. The reason Im so irritated is that he kept walking around the counter to talk to people with the dog in his hands, while no staff told him not to. Finally another staff enters and holds the dog, this man in a red coat then decides to do the job I assume he was hired for and fix the machines, this took him all of 5 mins. BUT he was beside my food, behind the counter without washing his hands, while the cook stood beside him making my food, he even thought he was funny by making a sprinkling motion over my food, and again, never washed his hands. My girlfriend who is the one that took this photos is allergic to dogs, only to their saliva thank gosh but still, I've never, ever seen a dog in a restaurant let alone, behind the counter where the food is. This is disgusting and unsanitary. Im beyond shocked, and think this is filthy.
I ADORE dogs but they do not need to be around my food when I'm eating out. I am also shocked that the waiter (who was very nice) said that she needed to wash her hands after touching him (which she did) never spoke up and told him he wasn't allowed there. The other employee who touched the dog also went into the back of the restaurant where all the food is without washing his hands either. I think management needs to know about this because this is really bad for such a unique and...
