Asked the heavy set woman with messy blondish hair to wash her hands with soap before she touches any of my food. Gave me serious attitude and dirty looks. Loudly advised she uses gloves. I asked her once again to wash her hands with soap, and if a customer asks this to please abide by - considering we are in COVID time. She proceeded to gave me a dirty look and again advised she wears gloves (loudly, of course). She finally started washing her hands with soap, and making a big deal of it by inhaling/exhaling loudly to make sure I heard and know that she is not happy with my simple request. Rude and immature! At that point, I walked out of the store - not happy at all. In no way should anyone be so rude to a customer. She has zero reason to be working at this place serving customers. She is rude, arrogant, dirty hair (no net). This just makes me wonder if this woman gives customers a hard time with a simple request to wash hands with soap and water before touching anything that I will be purchasing, how are they actually handling the food in the back before it gets to the front to be sold. Fire this girl immediately. I am the wrong person to treat this way. I shop there almost every single day, who is very well known - I will never again walk into this store., nor will I ever let anyone I care about to walk into this establishment I am pretty sure this is her character and how she treats everyone that comes into her path. I feel sorry for her. Fire her - she's going to get you...
Read moreIn what concerns the cleanliness and presentation of the place, I have to say that it is impeccable. But, I bought some small cakes today and it was heavy on my stomach and and weren't as good as they looked. The heaviness was the underlying issue.
Also, they rudely treated a lady that was waiting in line by telling to be patient even though she didn't say a word. I'm not sure if she did any physical gesture to the lady serving me since she was behind me and I couldn't see her, but instead of de-escalating the situation the owner that looked like the manager kept pushing of the issue by telling to calm down even more loudly.
To be fair the client behind me was arguing with the lady serving me, but who wouldn't if you were wrongly accused to be patient infront of all the other customers.
As she went back to talk to the manager telling her how she felt targeted, the manager told her again to calm down in a loud manner and there was even another client who pitched in saying that she should be patient. And when she left, both the manager and the client started to talk about her behind her back.
The manager didn't even bother to hear her client's concerns.
Anyway, that's how the situation looked to my eyes and I'll reiterate, I did not see if she made a physical gesture to the lady server, but I know for a fact she did say a word of disappointment. I think the whole situation could've been handled in a better manner with more care and patience. But...
Read moreI loved this pastry store it's honestly a GEM in LaSalle. They have amazing selection of pastries/cakes. It is a bit pricy but the taste will leave you speechless. Trust me you won't be disappointed at all, it's worth every penny!
Customer service is not as expected, some staffs were not friendly. They tend to rush you to make an order.
I would say the only down side is that I once bought a cake and we found a hair in one of the slices. At the moment we didn't think about taking a photo because we were at a birthday party. So we threw away the first cake that had a strand of hair and cut down the second cake. Later that day, I called the store to let them know about the hair situation and they said they canât do anything about it since we have no proof and that âpeople call to make false accusationsâ. That being said it sucks that they don't show any sense of empathy. The least they could do is apologize and wear hair nets.
Won't be back anytime soon due to personal experience however I definitely recommend this...
