It’s unfortunate that I have to write this. I’ve had nothing but good memories coming to this location as a kid. Hadn’t been here in almost 15 years. The girl at the front was very welcoming and polite but then as soon as we got our waiter, we definitely wished we had chosen another place. Now we’ve been to our fair share of restaurants, quality ones lesser quality ones, really busy ones and empty ones but we’ve never been attended to like we were today. She made us feel as if she didn’t want us there or that we weren’t “important” enough and we would hope it’s not due to the language or worst our ethnicity as we saw her more than comfortable and chatty with the people beside and behind us, who happened to be quebecois like her as well. Also, when they brought the food another server almost threw it at our table and with no eye contact whatsoever just left. We then realized the waitress had forgotten our drink. As she was going by I politely reminded her and she basically shhhed me and kept going. Only to head over to the other tables who had come after us by the way and deliver their drinks. Again, we saw her chat it up with those around us and she didn’t have the decency to even pass by for a courtesy, “how’s everything?” moment, something that they do everywhere else. Even when we finally asked for the bill I literally told her in her face as she was walking beside me and she walked away. I started off in French btw, to “accommodate” her but then once I turned to English, we disappeared for her. We shouldn’t have left a nickel for her but I still left something and once she gave us the receipt she didn’t say one word and left. We saw her eying us and talking to a colleague as we went past her. Like what did she expect? A full tip after the no service she provided. It can be busy or not busy, we get it. That’s something you can train. But people skills and manners, you can’t teach that. Terribly disappointed with you guys and no chance we’re ever going back. Son nom était Bianca by the way. Read moreFunny story... We had tried Scores in the late 1990's and were not impressed, having grown up in NDG home of the famous Chalet Bar-B-Q we did not enjoy the food at Scores. In 2013 while on a trip to PEI we stipoed at a Pizza Delight in Moncton, NB and the visit was in my Too Ten worst restaurant experiences, if not number 1, it's definitely 2... In any case someone who had completed a Professional Cooking course and worked in restaurants I couldn't let the experience go down in acknowledged and contacted the parent company to let them know how lousy the to to this restaurant had been. By way of apology they offered up a gift certificate which we learned we could use at a Score's in Montreal, sunce we don't have any Pizza Delight restaurants here. We were all light trepidatious having had a less than stellar record between those two experiences. Read moreWhen you walk into some restaurant as a black person here in Montreal there will always be caution on the other side!! Maybe they imagine you can’t afford the meal or you’re probably lost! That’s what happened to me when I went to Scores in Montreal along Newman Boulevard! I did not get the best treatment from the waitress the 2nd time I visited and from the waiter the third time. The waiter was so rude and agitated for no reason. I had to tell the guy I can’t stand his attitude and that I had to leave, but I decided to call the manager and explained all that had happened . He kindly talked to me and I was able to make my order with a very polite waitress called Laura. And when I wrote a review afew hours later I noticed the owner just replied with a short phrase thanking me for trusting them compared to what he always tells other customers to write or share their information on their website! NO Apology or assurance that something will be done to improve the service. This real shows that this restaurant has customers it regards so highly and those it doesn’t really care about.
