We went yesterday my friend and I. The server rushed us to order the moment we sat down. Didn't even bring us coffee yet or water, and kept asking us if we were ready to order. He came three times to ask us if we were ready (we still didn't have coffee and water). We had to ask him to stop and let us call for him. Finally we order. Eat. The moment we finished our last bite, here he was, ready to clean the table. There was no line and it was a week day. We take our time to finish our coffee and I see him and another server hovering over and then asked us if we could leave because they had customer waiting. But they had more empty tables so it made zero sense. We were there less than an hour and a half. It was supposed to be a great moment for my friend and I to catch up since we haven't seen each other for a while, and instead we had horrible service and we were kicked out. It was our brunch spot but we won't come back because it's not the first time that we've had such bad experience with that specific server. It sucks because otherwise the food is delicious and we use to...
Read moreA great place for breakfast. Not so different from any other breakfast places. However, the staff places a lot of emphasis on good service. They don't take reservations, so it means that on busy days, there is a wait time. Our wait time was only 15 mins, however, the attentive service (with a smiley waitress), made up for it. The reason for 4 stars is the noise: when the place is full, you have to nearly shout so that your guest can hear you. The sound was similar to a busy cafeteria, maybe due to the flat, hard surfaces (ceramic flooring, flat walls and ceiling). Very nice decor, but what this place needs is suspended accoustic panelling and wall baffles, to offset the high frequency reflections that come back to your ears with such intensity that it is uncontrolled and extremely noisy ( and this is just people having convesations). So, I recommend it, but stay away from peak...
Read moreIt's been years since I've revisited Petinos and I regret not having gone more often. They've certainly maintained their quality throughout the years unlike many other brunch places I've been to lately. I highly recommend the "Versant" if you're looking for a typical brunch platter, although this is much better quality than the typical. The crepes have perfect texture and taste incredible and fresh, even though I ordered them with my breakfast platter (as opposed to a crepe platter).
Note there is no reservation at this restaurant and the wait is usually long on your typical weekend so I would try to go on less busy days. However, the wait would be worth it if you do end up going on a weekend.
Since my other go-to brunch places have let me down lately with their "shrinkflation" quality, Petinos will certainly become my go-to...
