Restaurant Centrale Pizzeria — Restaurant in Montreal

Extremely rude and disrespectful employee. We accidentally used the wrong card and had asked in store if we can change the form of payment. The employee at the store told us that he has to call his manager and we asked him to call us back. After many days of not hearing back from anyone we called back and the employee instantly started berating us saying we are disrespectful and that we were "rude" to him. We had told him that we have been buying pizza from this place for many years and it happened in the past where we used the wrong card and wanted to change and there was no issues what so ever. He told use super aggressively he does not care and it does not matter if we are loyal customers or not because he has plenty other customers. Wow, what a way to talk to clients. This place does not care about you, they only care about money. Zero customer service. Furthermore, he went on about how we are "trying to buy him" with the fact that we are returning customers. All we wanted was to change the form of payment, but this place has lost a very loyal customer due to an employees disrespect towards us. Long story short, whenever we had an issue with the old management (this place has apparently changed management a few months ago) we always had our concerns and small issues taken...

Yeah, a lot of places make Pizza. But Centrale Pizzeria is by far in a class of there own. The "true" test of a Restaurant Pizza, is to get a Tomato and Cheese Pizza. You can truly taste the dough (you can judge the texture, the rise, and the crust) and that they know how to make pizza dough. You can see if the tomato sauce tastes fresh, is not sweet (they put sugar in tomato sauce to hide the acidity) and should taste like tomato sauce. The mozzarella cheese should be melted without any kind of oiliness, be flavourful like mozzarella and not chewy like rubber. They put just the right amount of dough thickness, tomato sauce and enough mozzarella cheese. Oh, and the place is nice and clean and you can see them making the pizza right in front of you (not in some hidden back room kitchen...

Centrale Pizza has been a favorite of mine for the past 25 years old. I remember their pizzas came loaded with toppings back in the day. They were at least 1" thick (or more). Today's experience proved things have changed. I understand food costs have risen substantially, but as a result, so have menu prices. My pizza today was very thin, with a thin layer of pepperoni scattered. My previous experience prior to today (about 3 weeks ago) was also disappointing, but at least it had 2 layers... It's still a great tasting pizza. It's just that they've become really skimpy on the toppings. Hopefully it was just a bad night with a new cook. I'll give them another chance! If you have never tried their pizzas, you really should! They are really good and they still beat sooooo many pizzerias...
