I would give 3.5 stars if I could. I have had food and coffee at Station W a few times and I liked it. Their grilled cheese sandwiches are nice and I like the chicken club. Considered it a solid place (and still tentativrely do). The coffee is good and atmosphere is nice for sitting inside and doing some work or having a chat. However, I recently had a very negative experience ordering some of the food as takeout. I ordered a Shlag salad and it was really bad. It had almost no feta and was just a bunch of soggy lettuce with a dressing that tasted like sugar oil (it was like they forgot to add the vinegar) topped with a pile of sliced carrots. The big "heel" of the lettuce, like the bottom part you usually cut off and discard, was thrown in there. We also had the falafel sandwich and the falafels were kind of hard and not warm, like they were not fresh. I am hoping this is a one time experience and did not have an experience like this when going there in person previously so I would not hesitate to go back, but I would definitely not order takeout again. They had also not started making the food when my husband arrived to pick it up despite having ordered 25 minutes prior for a...
Read moreThe atmosphere was exactly as promised. The food however, disappointing. I went here with the love of my life to eat a lox bagel which I had been craving for nearly 12 hours, nearly an eternity for a craving. The bagel was priced fairly for an establishment like this, a clean fifteen dollars and fifty cents. The pastries, like siren at the oceans shore, lured me to try the banana muffin with cream cheese icing. Just like a siren, the top half was indeed appealing, the bottom half however … not in the slightest.
The latte okay. Unremarkable and inoffensive. A whisper of a drink.
Is it so much to long for greater pleasures in life? Perhaps no treat offered at a local gen-x cafe could ever be as sweet as a kiss from my dearest lover. Perhaps, my taste buds and dopamine receptors are far too overblown.
In the most likely case, the food was simply mid.
Warm regards

Read moreUpon entering this cute little coffee shop, I was happy about the lack of commotion and the number of seats. This didn't take long to completely switch when people started pouring in. This was all fine, however there is only one very oversized bathroom to accommodate the entire cafe. The Earl Grey tea was amazing, made with real tea leaves rather than a plain old tea bag.
They are losing stars on the coffee, it was extremely bitter and took basically a whole cup of milk and even three sugar wasn't enough to combat the fierce strength of flavour. The date square wasn't my favourite either. Once it gets busy the seating is very close together and gets uncomfortable and annoying when you can hear people chewing beside you..
I'd give it 2.5 stars if that was an option as two is a bit low, but three...
