Tacos Timo — Restaurant in Montreal

We visited Taco timo yesterday and were not at all happy with their customer service which really makes/ breaks a business. First of all we waited 40 mins for our food to arrive, even though there were only one other table being served besides us. Second we were asked 2 times how the food was and not once was it mentioned that we didn't pay correctly for the fajitas we ate, although the system charged us for the fajitas, just a different price. You came to us after 11pm which is closing time, to pay for the food in a very rude tone. If you think that's being polite, must be French thing?! And we did not run away cause my boyfriend had his wallet ready to pay but putting the blame on us fully is unacceptable and a poor service etiquette. Maybe you should hire a staff to take your orders correctly and not rely on your machine!! I do wanna say that the chefs friend who was helping him with the orders was super kind...

We stopped by Taco Timo for the first time just 30 minutes before closing and were warmly welcomed by the owner himself. I ordered the beef steak tacos, and my boyfriend had the griot plate — and wow, everything was incredible!

From the flavorful, well-seasoned food to the genuinely kind and attentive service, our experience was top-notch. The owner is not only talented but also incredibly down-to-earth and passionate about what he does. We ended up chatting with him for a bit, and it was clear how much heart he puts into his business.

I loved the beef steak tacos so much that I asked for another plate to go — even though it was past closing time, he graciously made it for me. That kind of hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated.

I would not recommend this place to any due to the chef/owner, he was veryy rude after we had already finished our meal. We waited 40 mins for our food which we understood because he was by himself. He mistakenly made fajitas for us which we had no problem paying for after. He tried to blame us that we didn't use his machine properly which we would've paid for but the way he tried to blame it all on us. Like if your not getting paid for something... Why make it just ask us and we will pay. And all of this happened after 11pm. We understand we don't understand French and how they operate cause they don't have any employees working.
