Trattoria Il Ritrovo — Restaurant in Montreal

We had a great time. Family style restaurant where the owner serves you. It was a little full that Sunday night and they would have needed another waiter as it was a little slow. Margarita pizza was a thin crust pizza (I prefer a little thicker as it’s too crunchy for my liking) and tomato sauce a little acid tasting (I boil my sauce a little longer to remove some acid taste) but some people like it like that. Nice size pizza. Veal with white wine sauce was fantastic and tender. The penne it was served with was very good and all dente! Reasonable prices. Oh and I forgot fantastic short espresso, nice and creamy and strong as it should be…. It’s up there with Milano cafe in my humble opinion. In summary repeat yes don’t expect a fancy romantic restaurant but great for groups and you don’t have to dress...

Can't wait to go back! Husband and I enjoyed our date night here. We both ordered from the table d'hôte options and thoroughly enjoyed. Smaller portions (which is standard with table d'hôte) with several options for first course, main dish, dessert and coffee/tea. Each step was fresh, delicious, excellently executed! And with the fresh bread rolls replenished at our table, I still went home with leftovers from my main course. Prices are reasonable, too, especially considering what all you're getting for your money. Service was fantastic: attentive but not intrusive, quick but not rushed, friendly but not overbearing. High marks for everything! So glad to have discovered this spot and looking forward to giving them...

We visited Montreal for the weekend and were very disappointed when we found out that almost everything closes at 5pm on Sundays. Luckily we found Trattoria which was open late. We were greeted with a warm friendly smile from a man with a beard. He was so funny and welcoming. We ordered the aubergine parmigiana, chicken parmigiana, tortellini in rose sauce, carbonara (with was the biggest hit), fig pizza, burger, and the soups of the day. Honestly speaking, everything we had was phenomenal. They also provided us with bottled water and a focaccia on the house! This guy made our experience in Montreal so lovely.
