Went for brunch for my birthday and the person who seated us asked where we wanted to sit. We chose a table and she said ‘ok I’ll just get something to clean it and come back’ and then put our menus on another table.
Then the server came and asked why we were sitting there and we explained what happened and I said ‘but she hasn’t come back for a while so we will just take the menus so we can start looking if that’s ok? She didn’t pass us the menus, asked what the girl who seated us looked like and left.
She also didn’t come back. At this point we are watching the server and the seater both come in and out, completely oblivious to us. I got up and got the menus myself and we chose what we wanted to eat, and still nobody came back to even offer us water or coffee (let alone clean the table lol).
We ended up just getting up and leaving. Nobody asked why or if they could get us something. Clueless. High prices should be paired with exceptional service in my opinion, however we would have settled for ‘decent’ service. Good luck to this business. Read moreThis was a quite disappointing experience at Eva’s. I arrived as a group for a table of 5 to a restaurant filled with 6 other people and they brought me to a table in the middle of the restaurant that was meant for 4 people. It felt so in the way (exit of the kitchen and bar) so we requested to potentially move in a corner or in the booth to be out of the way. Miguel was very rude to us and was not accommodating to us — wouldn’t let us move anywhere else or move tables. After we sat down at the table we originally were assigned (since we couldn’t move anywhere else), he came back around and said “if you don’t like it, you can leave”. That’s so nice — we had friends coming to join us for a reservation and that’s the attitude we get. We didn’t ask for anything crazy. Guess what — the tables he mentioned were for 2 people only were filled with groups of 3+ people too (but it was saved for his friends). And there was definitely space for us to move. Overall, the food was fine, our waited was nice, but the experience at the start really ruined the...
Read moreThis is a very popular brunch spot so I recommend reserving on the weekends. It’s located in the Foufou foodcourt at Royalmount. The place is quite bright due to the big windows on the side. They only have small round tables for 2 so if you are more, they stick the tables next to each other.
We were disappointed that they didn’t have any matcha nor their house pancake bites. They are known for their pancake bites so I wanted to try them. However, the waiter told us that they don’t make them on the weekend, only on weekdays.
We ordered the Hightower, the Lover’s salmon plate, and the Pinwheel. The Hightower was very tasty. Their mini pancakes were fluffy and delicious. The Lover’s salmon plate was ok. The presentation wasn’t great and the avocados were browning. The Pinwheel is perfect for those with a sweet tooth and it’s instaworthy. In general, the portions here are quite small for the price they charge.
Service was good. Someone was constantly refilling our water glasses.
In all, it’s an ok...
